Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Adrian Mateos opened from under the gun and the action folded to Paul Newey on the button, who three-bet jammed a short stack of 10,000. Mateos called with a much bigger stack.

Paul Newey: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Adrian Mateos: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Newey had the Spanish pro dominated and his hand held up for a double as the board ran out {4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

Hossein Ensan told PokerNews how he had been eliminated from the EPT London Main Event despite having flopped a set.

Florian Duta raised and called a shove from Ensan for his last 28,000.

Hossein Ensan: {j-}{j-}
Florian Duta: {a-}{q-}

The {k-}{j-}{9-} flop gave Ensan a set, but the {10-} turn improved his opponent to a straight. Ensan needed the board to pair but the river {4-} bricked and he was eliminated.

Pilkington Doubles; Eminoglu Eliminated

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jessica Pilkington
Jessica Pilkington

EPT London Ladies Event champion Jessica Pilkington was stacking her chips after doubling through James Williams. Pilkington had spiked two jacks with {a-Spades}{j-Spades} on the {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Hearts} runout to beat her opponent's {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and move above 100,000 in chips.

Meanwhile at another table, Yucel Eminoglu was needing help with {a-Spades}{k-Spades} all in for 20,000 against the {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} of Andres Korn.

"Where do you want it?" a friend asked Eminoglu.

"I want it on the flop," said Eminoglu. "Kill him on the flop."

However, no ace or king was forthcoming on the {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts} runout and Eminoglu was eliminated.

"Recreational Player" Nitsche Having Fun at Table 15

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Dominik Nitsche was in a heads-up pot against Christian Dressler on a board of {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} with around 37,000 in the middle.

Nitsche put out a river bet of about 21,300 and Dressler thought for a minute before folding, leading those at the table to speculate whether Nitsche was bluffing.

"I don't know what he would do in that spot!" laughed Lawrence Bayley.

"I'm just having fun. Recreational player," the accomplished high-stakes pro replied.
