Holz Falls to Vlachos

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Fedor Holz was surviving the last hour or so by getting a shove through now and then, his short-stack shoves hadn't been called. Until he moved in against Andreas Vlachos.

Holz shoved 535,000 from middle position. In the cutoff, Vlachos moved all in himself for about 1,200,000. The rest of the table folded and the two revealed their cards.

Fedor Holz: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Andreas Vlachos: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Holz pulled ahead on the {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop. The turn flipped the script when the {a-Diamonds} hit. The river {4-Clubs} changed nothing, so Holz headed to the payout desk.

Bullets Take Two More Out

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Sammy Truong opened from under the gun. Action folded all the way to Giorgio Marletta in the big blind who moved in for about 350,000. Truong made the call.

Giorgio Marletta: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Sammy Truong: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

Marletta ran into the goods and couldn't improve on the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades} board, so his day was done.

__________

At a nearby table, a similar story played out. Ylva Thorsrud opened from middle position. Tay Quang moved all in for about 680,000 in late position. Back on Thorsrud, she made the call quickly.

Tay Quang: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Ylva Thorsrud: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Quang ran into the aces as well, and shared a similar fate on the {10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} runout that sent him packing.

Holz Wounded, Gets a Shove Through

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Fedor Holz hasn't had the greatest start to Day 3 and saw his stack of 1,090,000 dwindling down to just 240,000.

But Holz received a boost as the action folded to him on the button and he open-jammed his stack of less than five big blinds. Marcus Krzymyk in the big blind gave it some thought but ultimately laid it down to nearly double Holz' stack without any runout needed.

Straight Plays for Peter

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Action picked up on the river in a heads-up pot between Sammy Truong and Jaroslav Peter. The full board showed {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}, a straight on board.

Truong led from the big blind for 400,000, about a pot-sized bet. Jaroslav Peter moved all in for about 1,050,000. and then put his head in his hands.

Truong laughed and studied the board for a while. He finally let it go, showing the {7-Spades} in his hand that no longer played. Peter took down the pot, but wouldn't show if he had it.

Heidorn Slowplays Aces, Gets It All From Parmisciano

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Robert Heidorn opened to 125,000 from the hijack. Action folded to Aguinaldo Parmisciano in the small blind who three-bet to 355,000. Heidorn made the call.

The flop showed up {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Parmisciano led for 300,000, leaving about the same amount behind. Heidorn moved all in and Parmisciano called to put himself at risk.

Aguinaldo Parmisciano: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Robert Heidorn: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Parmisciano was on the wrong end of the cooler; Heidorn was in prime position with the bigger overpair. The {k-Hearts} turn and {10-Spades} river locked it up to send Parmisciano home.
