Pecheux Among the Chip Leaders

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Erwann Pecheux
Erwann Pecheux

In a four-bet pot to the {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop, Erwann Pecheux opted to check with around 26,000 in the middle. Alexis Andre bet just 2,600 and Pecheux called. The Frenchman checked again the {4-Clubs} on the turn and Andre bet 6,500.

Pecheux went deep in the tank for more than two minutes before he check-raised to 30,000. Andrew had a short stack behind and folded, which prompted a very excited bang on the table by Pecheux.

Sula Out for a Second Time

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Jessica Pilkington
Jessica Pilkington

Nicanor Sula re-entered after his previous elimination and then defended out of the blinds against Jessica Pilkington. On a {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} river, he checked and Pilkington bet 20,000 which had her opponent covered.

Sula gave it some thought and eventually called all-in to show the {a-Spades}{9-Spades}. Pilkington had that beat with the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a set and was relieved to win the pot.

"If he doesn't snap-call, that is always a good sign," she said while raking in the pot.

Petar Kalev opened the action with a raise to 1,300 from the cutoff and Audrius Stakelis called from the button. Pierre Calamusa carved out a reraise to 5,500 from the small blind and Kalev responded with a four-bet to 13,000. Stakelis folded and Calamusa threw in the call.

On a flop of {5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{a-Spades}, Calamusa checked and Kalev checked behind.

The turn came the {4-Hearts} and Calamusa checked again only for Kalev to bet 7,000. Calamusa folded and Kalev raked the pot.

Pflanzl Eliminates Aydin in Classic Flip

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Fatih Aydin shoved his remaining 8,100 from early position and picked up the lone call from Hannes Pflanzl. Aydin was the player at risk and the players tabled their hands.

Fatih Aydin: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Hannes Pflanzl: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Aydin needed some help to keep his tournament dream alive but could not improve on the {q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds} run out and made his way to the exit.
