Milhomens Goes for It All on the River

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Jacek Medyk opened to 8,000 from the hijack and found two callers, Lyudmil Ivanov on the button and Rui Milhomens in the big blind.

The flop came out {3-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Milhomens checked to the preflop aggressor, and Medyk continued with a bet of 10,000. Ivanov folded the button but Milhomens called in the big blind.

The turn brought an {a-Hearts}, and Milhomens checked again. Medyk didn't slow down, he bet 21,000. Milhomens again went for the check-call.

The river came the {9-Diamonds} and Milhomens checked as he had every street prior. Milhomens emptied the clip with a bet of 53,000. Milhomens thought for about a minute before moving his stack of 222,000 into the middle as a check-raise. Medyk didn't think long before firing his cards into the muck.

Three Eliminations at Once Burst the Bubble

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Saar Wilf
Saar Wilf

Auez Yelyubayev was forced all in for 1,000 in the big blind and Robert Cowen raised to 8,000 in early position. Jaesung Lee three-bet to 20,000 on his left and the action folded back to Cowen who four-bet to 58,000. Lee called and they went heads-up on the side pot to a flop of {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

Both players checked and the {3-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Cowen check-called a bet of 40,000 from Lee and the {6-Hearts} peeled off on the river. Both players checked again and Cowen tabled {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. Lee held {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a set of tens to claim the side pot and he also got the main pot when Yelyubayev showed {q-}{10-}.

At the table next door, Saar Wilf raised it up from under the gun and Lader Lijo three-bet all in from the big blind. Wilf instantly called and the hands were tabled.

Saar Wilf: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Lander Lijo: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Lijo spiked a set of queens on the river to also eliminate Wilf. With two eliminations occurring at the same time, the tournament dealers were told to hold up after the hand.

While play was paused at all tables, Felix Weis was also eliminated, bringing the field down to just 183 entries. When the action was completed at all of the tables, it was announced that the remaining 183 players all locked up a min-cash of €8,550.

Notable Bust Outs

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Frazzled Frezza Doubles Near the Bubble

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Pascal Frezza was the player at risk for 76,000 from an early position and somehow found a customer in Ondrej Drozd out of the small blind. Once the cards were revealed, there were some surprised looks by the other players.

Pascal Frezza: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Ondrej Drozd: {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop saw Frezza demand in French "no king, no king, no king," not realising that this would give him the nuts. Both players missed the {3-Hearts} turn and {9-Clubs} river as ace-jack high was good enough for the double.

Stokkan Sticky Against Check-Raise

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Action started on the flop in a heads-up pot with a board of {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. About 10,000 was in the middle.

Motoyoshi Okamura checked the big blind. In the cutoff, Preben Stokkan bet 4,000. Okamura check-raised to 12,500. After some thought, Stokkan made the call.

The turn brought the {a-Hearts}. Okamura led for 20,000. After a much shorter pause for thinking, Stokkan called again.

The river came the {6-Hearts}. Okamura slowed down and checked the final street, Stokkan was content to check behind.

Okamura showed {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for flopped top pair, but Stokkan drilled the turn and showed {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} for the winner.
