Wigg Gets Coolered in Five-Minute Preflop Hand

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Anton Wigg
Anton Wigg

Askar Bekbayev opened to 4,000 from under the gun and Anton Wigg three-bet to 12,500 a couple of seats over. Tomas Jozonis spent 90 seconds in the tank on the button and eventually folded. David Petkovic also wasted 90 seconds in the big blind, gazing around the room, and eventually folded. Bekbayev four-bet shoved all in and Wigg quickly called off his stack of 46,000.

Anton Wigg: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Askar Bekbayev: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The flop fell {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} with the queen in the window to give Wigg the lead. The {a-Hearts} on the turn changed nothing but it was the {k-Spades} on the river that gave Bekbayev a bigger set and Wigg was eliminated.

Danchev Doubles; Is Left Short After

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Dimitar Danchev
Dimitar Danchev

Dimitar Danchev had previously doubled through Alexander Tkatschew when his {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flopped the top pair and hit running cards to a flush on the {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} board.

Soon after, he was involved in the action in the cutoff versus Paulius Vaitiekunas in the big blind. The latter bet the {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Spades} turn for 20,000 and Danchev reluctantly called. Vaitiekunas jammed the {8-Clubs} river with the covering stack and Danchev reluctantly folded.

Mateos Continued Stacking Chips

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Max Neugebauer raised to 4,000 in the cutoff and Adrian Mateos re-raised to 14,000 in the big blind. Neugebauer called and they went heads-up to a flop of {j-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

Mateos tossed in a bet of 18,000 on the flop and Neugebauer called to see the {8-Spades} on the turn. Both players checked through to the {q-Clubs} on the river and checked one more time. Mateos tabled {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a pair of jacks and was awarded the pot.

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Timothy Adams opened from middle position to 4,500, Julien Sitbon called from the cutoff and action folded around to Jakub Koleckar in the small blind who squeezed to 21,000 with Adams and Sitbon both calling.

The three players went to a flop of {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} and all opted to check their options.

On the {2-Clubs} turn Adams led out for 25,000 and Sitbon was the only caller.

The river came {a-Clubs} and Adams took his time before checking to Sitbon who checked back.

Adams showed {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a set of tens and Sitbon mucked his hand.

Khatri Sent to the Rail by Bigot

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The cards were already on their backs when Bhavin Khatri was all-in and at risk versus Fabrice Bigot.

Khatri's {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} were up against {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and he gained some equity on the {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop. The {9-Clubs} turn changed nothing and the {q-Hearts} river only improved Bigot to a king-high straight.

Smolka Keeps His Foot on the Gas

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Dawid Smolka raised to 4,500 on the button and Ami Barer defended from the big blind. The flop came {q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Barer check-called a bet of 3,500 from Smolka.

The turn was the {j-Spades} and Barer checked again. Smolka sized up a bet of 16,000 this time and Barer still called. The {a-Clubs} completed the board and Barer checked for the third time. Smolka fired out another bet of 16,000 which put Barer in the tank. After a couple of minutes, Barer finally dispatched his cards and Smolka raked in the pot.

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On the river of a {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{k-Spades} river, Oddvar Brendo checked and Bleron Maliqi jammed all-in with the far superior stack. Brendo wasted little time before calling all-in for the 74,000 he had behind.

Maliqi tabled the {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for a bluff and Brendo scored the double holding the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for tens and nines.

Drake Makes Mateos' Hotline Bling With River Call

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action picked up on the flop in a heads-up pot between Adrian Mateos and Ian Drake. The flop showed {j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and 22,000 in the pot.

Drake checked his option in the big blind. Mateos bet 8,000 in position, and Drake made the call.

The turn showed up the {10-Clubs}. Both players checked the paired board.

The river landed the {4-Hearts}. Drake checked for a third time. Mateos thought for about 30 seconds before betting 37,500. Drake flicked in a chip for a call immediately.

Mateos flipped over {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, but that was no good against the {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} of Drake for trips.
