Obara Mishears, Kvisthammar Busts

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Jun Obara
Jun Obara

Bleron Maliqi opened to 12,000 from early position, Peter Kvisthammar reraised all in from the cutoff for 138,000, Jun Obara four-bet all in to 461,000 from the button and the blinds folded with the action back on Maliqi.

Maliqi announced call but looked confused as Kvisthammar and Obara flipped their hands over. Maliqi had thought that Obara had just called the all-in from Kvisthammar, and not reraised himself.

Once the confusion died down the players showed their hands with both Kvisthammar and Obara at risk to the big stack of Maliqi.

Peter Kvisthammar: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Jun Obara: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Bleron Maliqi: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Kvisthammar was eliminated. Obara's trip kings scooped both pots and he is now one of the chip leaders in the room.

Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs}, Parker Talbot led out with a bet of 9,000 from the big blind into a pot of around 80,000. Namhyung Kim called in early position and the {3-Diamonds} completed the board.

Talbot fired out another small bet of 16,000 and Kim looked him up. Talbot flipped over {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Kim conceded the pot.

A couple of hands later, Talbot opened to 16,000 in the cutoff and Kim three-bet to 48,000 from the big blind. Talbot called and the dealer fanned the flop of {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

Kim led out with a bet of 25,000 and Talbot called to see the {4-Spades} on the turn. Kim checked this time and Talbot counted out a bet of 45,000. Kim check-raised to 180,000 but Talbot wasn't going anywhere just yet.

The {2-Spades} hit the river and Kim checked again. Talbot slid out a stack of 25,000 chips and Kim quickly mucked his cards.

Preben Stokkan: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Bendik looked prime to find a double if his jacks could hold, but more proof that there's no right way to play them showed up on the {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board, and Bendik was sent packing.
