Shornikau Moves All in

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Arie Kliper opened to 40,000 from under the gun. Action folded all the way to Maksim Shornikau in the small blind. He moved all in for 260,000, 13 big blinds.

Back on Kliper, he thought for his full 30 seconds before laying it down.

Play has been tight near the end of the night, a large portion of hands aren't seeing the flop with 12 minutes left in play on the night.

Tekle Mariam Doubles Through Mattsson

Simon Mattsson raised it up on the button and Henok Tekle Mariam defended from the big blind. The flop came {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} and Mattsson continued with a bet of 20,000. Tekle Mariam check-raised to 60,000 and Mattsson countered with a re-raise to 130,000. Tekle Mariam shoved all in for 340,000 and Mattsson quickly called.

Tekle Mariam flopped a flush but Mattsson had the better flush draw. The {a-Clubs} on the turn gave Mattsson even more outs but the {5-Diamonds} on the river paired the wrong card and Tekle Mariam doubled up.

De Almeida Slowplays Kings

Paul-Adrian Covaciu opened to 40,000 in the hijack and found a caller on his left, Pierre De Almeida in the cutoff. The rest of the table folded.

The flop showed up {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Covaciu continued for 50,000, and De Almeida made the call.

The turn came the {q-Clubs}, Covaciu slowed with a check. De Almeida bet 100,000, and Covaciu went with the check-call.

The river landed the {q-Hearts}. Cavaciu checked again. De Almeida assembled 300,000 and put them in the pot. De Almeida thought for about 25 seconds and made the call.

De Almeida showed {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, the slowplayed overpair, and took down the pot.

Double Bust Out on the Feature Table

Action folded around to Ondrej Drozd with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} in the cutoff who opened to 40,000, Javier Gomez Zapatero folded the button and Oddvar Brendo had {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and reraised all in for his remaining 340,000.

In the big blind Natan Chauskin had {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and used a time bank card before also going all in for his remaining stack and Drozd made the call covering both players.

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Drozds nines held eliminating both players.

Interestingly Brendo and Chauskin started the hand with the same amount of chips and as they were eliminated simultaneously on a pay jump they split the difference.

Talbot Joins a "French" Table

Milan Simko opened to 40,000 from under the gun and Yannick Cardot three-bet to 110,000 on the button. Simko called and they went heads-up to a flop of {6-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Simko checked to Cardot who threw in a bet of 90,000 and Simko quickly folded.

With the field down to 32 players, another table was broken and Parker Talbot joined Table 3. "Wow, are you guys all French here?" Talbot questioned as five players along with the dealer confirmed they were French.

"We're getting better," Fabrice Bigot pointed out.

"I thought there was just more of you," Talbot joked.

Benjamin Lebor opened to 40,000 from under the gun. Action folded to short-stacked Jaesung Lee, he shoved for 125,000 in late position. Just on his left, Henok Tekle Mariam four-bet to 210,000. Mariam folded, saying he had {k-}{q-} as he did so.

A bad spot for Lee to find, he ran into the goods. The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Lee was left without chips as the remaining 32 combine to four tables.

Covaciu Looks for a Fold

Action was heads up with {5-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades} on the board when Paul-Adrian Covaciu checked from the big blind before Luigi D'Alterio bet 60,000 from the button. Covaciu raised to 110,000 and D'Alterio called.

The turn was {7-Clubs} and Covaciu continued for 175,000. D'Alterio called and the river was {k-Spades}.

Covaciu fired 625,000 at the river and D'Alterio went all in, which sent Covaciu deep into the tank. After several moments of thought and a few time banks, Covaciu tossed his hand in the muck and gave the pot to D'Alterio.

Brendo Makes the Great Escape

Oddvar Brendo had {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and opened to 40,000 from the cutoff, Rui Milhomens picked up {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} and three-bet to 120,000 from the button and Brendo called.

On a flop of {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, Brendo started with a check and Milhomens continued his aggression betting 80,000 and Brendo reacted by check-raising to 175,000. Milhomens used a time bank card before moving all in for 1,030,000 putting Brendo to a decision for his tournament life.

Brendo went deep into the tank before folding his hand avoiding the cooler in the process.

On the flop of {5-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts}, Zapatero checked to Brendo who continued for 40,000 only for Zapatero to react with a check-raise to 120,000. Brendo then reraised all in and Zapatero made the fold.

Timothy Adams opened to 40,000 in the cutoff. Action folded to Pierre De Almeida in the small blind who three-bet to 150,000. Back on Adams, he four-bet all in to 375,000. De Almeida didn't like it, but he decided to call for the price.
