Hocquaux Perplexes Buhaiov

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Alexandre Hocquaux opened to 20,000 from early position, Nazar Buhaiov called from the seat to his left and the rest of the table folded.

The dealer fanned a {5-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, Hocquaux bet 17,000 and Buhaiov called.

The turn came the {7-Clubs} and this time Hocquaux checked, Buhaiov fired out a bet of 30,000 and Hocquaux check-raised to 95,000. Buhaiov thought for a few moments using a time bank card in the process before eventually folding and awarding the pot to Hocquaux.

Adams Empties the Clip Against Big Blind

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Timothy Adams opened to 21,000 from under the gun and only found one caller, Andriy Mertengren in the big blind.

The dealer laid out the {q-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs} for the flop. Mertengren check-called a bet of 20,000 from Adams.

The turn showed up the {8-Clubs}, Mertengren checked again. Adams bumped up the number to 82,000 on the turn, which Mertengren called.

The river fell the {2-Clubs}, and Mertengren checked one final time. Adams assembled 207,000 and slide it all into the middle. Mertengren went deep into the tank, burning a couple of time banks, before finally letting his cards go.

Pardo Bounced on Wrong End of Classic Flip, Shchepkin Nears a Million

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Juan Pardo
Juan Pardo

After opening from middle position, and trading a couple of raises with Dmitry Shchepkin in the small blind, Juan Pardo found himself all in for a pot of 544,000 with his tournament life at stake. It was a classic flip with it all on the line for the Spaniard.

Juan Pardo: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Dmitry Shchepkin: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Bad news came on the flop for Pardo when the {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{a-Clubs} hit the board. He couldn't find a queen on the {5-Hearts} turn or {5-Clubs} river, so Pardo's tournament came to an end.

Saout Sends Stokkan Out

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Antoine Saout opened to 20,000 from the button. Action folded to Preben Stokkan in the big blind. He moved all in for 160,000. After some thought, Saout made the call to put Stokkan at risk.

Preben Stokkan: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Antoine Saout: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Neither player improved on the {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}, so Saout's ace high was better and Stokkan was eliminated.
