Saout and Obara Chop; Saccucci Misses a Knockout

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Antoine Saout
Antoine Saout

Antoine Saout raised to 175,000 with the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Jun Obara three-bet to 455000 with the {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. Jordan Saccucci in the big blind glanced at the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and opted to get out of the way.

Saout moved all-in and Obara snap-called as Saccucci sighed upon seeing the potential equity.

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Parker Talbot needled Saccucci for folding his overcards, which would have reduced the field by at least one opponent.

The flop came out {2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, giving both players a pair. Still, action checked through.

The turn came the {k-Hearts}. Obara still checked, as did Kalev.

The river paired the board with the {6-Spades}. Obara led for 105,000. Kalev made the call with his deuce. Obara squeezed a little value out of Kalev on the river and took down the pot.

Kalev Chips Up Through Saccucci

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Petar Kalev opened to 160,000 from under the gun with the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Jordan Saccucci three-bet to 450,000 from one seat over with the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, which Kalev opted to call once it checked to him. The {j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop was checked by Kalev and Saccucci continued for 350,000 as the Bulgarian came along.

The {q-Clubs} turn brought another overcard for Kalev and he checked once more. This time, Saccucci checked behind and failed to improve with the {7-Spades} river. Kalev checked the third street in a row and Sacucci knuckled it back to award the pot to Kalev.

Paul-Adrian Covaciu then raised to 160,000 with the {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Petar Kalev called in the big blind with {8-Spades}{7-Clubs} which led them to the {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop. Both players checked and the {6-Diamonds} followed on the turn as Covaciu improved to a straight.

Kalev bet 150,000 and Covaciu just called as the {a-Spades} fell on the river. The Hungarian now bet 325,000 and Covaciu just called to win the pot with his straight.

Javier Gomez Zapatero opened to 240,000 from the small blind with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Luigi D'Alterio woke up with his own {a-Spades}{k-Spades} in the big blind and three-bet to 750,000. Back on Gomez Zapatero, he moved all in for 2,470,000. D'Alterio snap-called.

Likely heading to a chop, the flop came out {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, giving the spades a freeroll. The turn {q-Diamonds} and {8-Hearts} locked up the chop and the two split up the pot.

D'Alterio Jams Into Saout

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Javier Gomez Zapatero opened to 160,000 with the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and was called by Jordan Saccucci in the big blind holding the {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} in the big blind. The {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop was checked by the Canadian and Gomez Zapatero continued for 150,000. That led to a check-raise to 350,000 by Saccucci and the hand ended right there.

Luigi D'Alterio opened to 160,000 from under the gun with the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. Antoine Saout eventually got active with the {a-Spades}{6-Spades} and three-bet to 490,000 from a middle position. It folded back to D'Alterio and the Italian moved all-in with the covering stack to force out Saout instantly.
