Kalev Gets Thin Value From Covaciu

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Paul-Adrian Covaciu opened to 120,000in the hijack with the {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and won the blinds and big blind ante.

He then made it 120,000 to go with the {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Petar Kalev came along in the big blind with the {10-Hearts} showing. The flop came {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Kalev check-called a bet of 120,000 to see the {a-Hearts} on the turn.

Both now checked and the {a-Clubs} on the river paired the board. Kalev bet 100,000 and Covaciu called to then see the Bulgarian reveal his second card, which happened to be the {10-Clubs} for tens and aces to win the pot.

Pilhofer Moves All In

Petar Kalev {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} opened to 125,000 from early position. Luigi D'Alterio three-bet to 385,000 with {k-Clubs}{x-}. In the big blind, Istvan Pilhofer woke up to {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. He moved all in for 1,590,000. Kalev folded his open.

Over to D'Alterio, he folded, never seeing what his second card was.

D'Alterio Beats Saccucci in Showdown

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Jordan Saccucci raised to 140,000 holding the {j-Spades}{10-Spades} and Luigi D'Alterio called with the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} in the cutoff. Both headed to the {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} on which Saccucci bet 120,000. D'Alterio raised to 375,000 with his overpair and Saccucci then reraised to 770,000, sending D'Alterio into the tank before the Italian came along.

The {8-Hearts} fell on the turn and Saccucci bet 470,000 into a pot of nearly two million, which was called by D'Alterio once more.

After the {2-Clubs} river, both players checked and D'Alterio won a very healthy pot against the chip leader.

Talbot Flops Top Pair Against Aces, Loses Very Little

Jordan Saccucci opened to 130,000 with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} from the hijack. Only Parker Talbot made the call in the big blind with {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

The flop came out {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, giving Talbot top pair against the aces. Talbot checked, and Saccucci bet 215,000. Talbot check-called.

The turn showed up the {5-Clubs} and Talbot bet the minimum, 60,000. Saccucci just called.

On the {7-Diamonds} turn, putting a four-liner on the board, Talbot again bet the minimum, 60,000. Saccucci once again just called.

Talbot showed his top pair, no good against the aces of Saccucci.

Kalev Catches Covaciu Bluffing

Petar Kalev opened to 125,000 with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Paul-Adrian Covaciu came along in the big blind with {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

The flop brought {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} on which Covaciu checked and Kalev continued for 125,000, prompting a call by the Romanian. That led to the {6-Diamonds} turn on which Covaciu checked again, with Kalev checking back.

Covaciu bet 230,000 on the {j-Spades} and Kalev mulled it over for a short while before he called and won the pot with his bluff catcher.

Obara Missteps With Incorrect Hero Call

Parker Talbot {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} opened to 120,00 from early position. Jun Obara {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} made the call, as did Luigi D'Alterio {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} in the big blind.

The flop showed up {2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. D'Alterio and Talbot both checked, and Obara bet 160,000. D'Alterio called with his middle pair, and Talbot made the fold.

The turn showed up the {6-Diamonds}, and the action was checked through.

The river gave D'Alterio two pair when the {7-Spades} fell. D'Alterio led for a healthy 580,000. On Obara, he went into the tank with ace high. After about 45 seconds, he made a hero call that was no good, and D'Alterio scooped the pot.

Kalev Five-Bets Against Obara

Obara then four-bet to 1,150,000 and that sent Kalev into a brief tank. The Bulgarian then five-bet to 2,035,000 and Obara snap-folded.

Obara opened to 120,000 with the {a-Spades}{8-Clubs} in the cutoff and Kalev three-bet to 370,000 with the {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} on the button, winning yet another pot off the Japanese without resistance.

No Flop in Sight Yet

Covaciu then opened to 120,000 in the cutoff with {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Istvan Pilhofer jammed out of the big blind with the {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds} to win the pot uncontested.

Petar Kalev raised to 125,000 from under the gun with {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and claimed the blinds and big blind ante.

Antoine Saout made it 120,000 to go from the cutoff with {10-Spades}{9-Spades} and also got through with it.
