Schillhabel Freerolls Song

Level 31 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Stefan Schillhabel
Stefan Schillhabel

Daewoong Song open-jammed a stack of 4,300,000 from the small blind and Stefan Schillhabel reluctantly called off in the big blind with 2,850,000.

Stefan Schillhabel: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Daewoong Song: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

It was an anticlimactic showdown as the players both held king-jack and the flop of {9-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts} made it look like a chop was imminent. But the {10-Hearts} on the turn gave Schillhabel a chance to scoop with a flush, and a choir of gasps were heard in the room as the {7-Hearts} on the river gave him the flush to double through Song, who himself had just doubled a few hands prior.

Johannes Straver Eliminated in 6th Place (€195,670)

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Johannes Straver
Johannes Straver

After Johannes Straver put 500,000 of his remaining 700,000 chips in the middle from the hijack, Jaewoong Song moved all in from the small blind. Stefan Schillhabel folded his big blind and Straver was at risk.

Johannes Straver: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Daewoong Song: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}

The {5-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop was about as good as Song could ask for, pairing his ace and giving him a flush draw.

The {k-Hearts} turn gave Straver some hope with a pair of kings, but the {5-Clubs} river brought no further help and he was sent home in sixth place.

Amiri Has Worse Two Pair to Double Ferreira

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Rui Ferreira
Rui Ferreira

Rui Ferreira opened in to 240,000 in the hijack and Ehsan Amiri flat-called in the cutoff, while Laszlo Molnar defended his big blind.

The flop of {j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} checked through and Ferreira bet 400,000 when checked to. Only Amiri called. The river brought the {8-Clubs} and Ferreira bet 1,900,000, leaving himself just a few chips behind. Amiri raised all in and Ferreira committed his remaining chips.

Amiri showed {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for two pair, but it was no good against the better two pair of the Portuguese player with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for the chip leader to double up yet another opponent.

Schillhabel Traps Amiri

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Stefan Schillhabel
Stefan Schillhabel

Ehsan Amiri raised on the button to 200,000 and was called by Stefan Schillhabel in the big blind.

On the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} flop, Schillhabel checked to Amiri who bet 100,000. Schillhabel lobbed in a calling chip to see the {6-Diamonds} fall on the turn and again checked.

Amiri cut out 350,000 and pushed it forward, receiving another call from Schillhabel.

On the {8-Clubs} river, Schillhabel checked a final time and Amiri pounded the table to check.

"I win," said Schillhabel as he turned over {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a flopped Broadway straight and the nuts.

"I was waiting for the river bet," said Schillhabel as he dragged enough chips to push him over five million.

Kyriakos Papadopoulos Eliminated in 7th Place (€150,530)

Level 29 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Kyriakos Papadopoulos
Kyriakos Papadopoulos

Daewoong Song raised to 200,000 in early position and Daewoong Song three-bet to 500,000 on the button, leaving himself approximately 200,000 behind.

Song raised the rest and Papadopoulos called off for his tournament life.

Kyriakos Papadopoulos: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Daewoong Song: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}

Papadopoulos was ahead with his ace-high and also had the better flush draw when the flop came {j-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

The turn however was the {10-Diamonds}, giving Song a pair of tens.

The river {5-Diamonds} was no help to Papadopoulos, and he was eliminated to take home €150,530.

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Damian Salas
Damian Salas

Action folded to Damian Salas in middle position and he put on his sunglasses before open-jamming a stack of 470,000. Ehsan Amiri peeled his cards from the big blind and made the call.

Damian Salas: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Ehsan Amiri: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Salas couldn't improve to stay alive as the board ran out {2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} to send the 2020 WSOP Main Event champion to the rail. Salas, whose poker accolades include EPT Online and SCOOP championships, takes home €115,780 for his deep run.

Schillhabel Calls With Queen-High

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Stefan Schillhabel
Stefan Schillhabel

Ehsan Amiri opened to 160,000 on the button and Stefan Schillhabel defended out of the big blind.

Schillhabel checked on the flop of {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Amiri bet 100,000. Schillhabel called. Schillhabel checked again on the {9-Spades} turn and Amiri checked back.

The river brought the {a-Clubs} and Schillhabel checked a third time. Amiri took a moment and bet 275,000. Schillhabel gave it some thought and called.

Like a previous hand, Amiri mucked in defeat without showing, while Schillhabel showed {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} for just queen-high to go with the pair of nines on the board as he scooped the pot.

Lander Lijo
Lander Lijo

In the first hand at the final table, Lander Lijo opened on the button and Johannes Straver three-bet jammed in the big blind. Lijo snap-called with a total stack of 990,000.

Lander Lijo: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Johannes Straver: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Lijo's nines were still ahead after the flop of {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}, but the {k-Diamonds} on the turn gave his opponent a big lead and Lijo was eliminated in ninth place after the {8-Clubs} bricked off on the river.

"GG. Good luck, guys," Lijo said after his short-lived final table appearance.

Andrew Wilson

Andrew Wilson's spinup attempt has come to an end at the hands of Daewoong Song.

Wilson moved all in for approximately 600,000 from the hijack and Song moved in for more in the small blind.

Andrew Wilson: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Daewoong Song: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}, bringing no help to Wilson and sending the final nine players to the unofficial final table.

The players have gone on a quick unscheduled 10-minute break as the final table seat draw is completed.

Wilson on Fumes After Broadway vs Boat Collision

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Andrew Wilson
Andrew Wilson

In a blind-versus-blind confrontation, Laszlo Molnar opened from the small blind and Andrew Wilson three-bet to 480,000 from the big blind. Molnar called.

The flop landed {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Molar checked. Wilson bet 275,000 and Molnar called. Molnar checked again on the {q-Diamonds} turn and Wilson sized up to 400,000. Molnar used through a time bank and called.

The river brought the {3-Hearts} and Molnar again checked. Wilson used a time bank before fired a third barrel of 645,000, which Molnar met with a snap-call.

Wilson proudly tabled {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for a Broadway straight, which he surely thought was good to win the pot. But Molnar then tabled {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for tens full of queens. Wilson had flopped the nut straight with a redraw to the nut flush but Molnar boated up on the turn to leave the Brit visibly flustered and riding fumes after the gut-wrenching cooler.

Wilson's luck may be turning around as he doubled up his nub of 175,000 through Stefan Schillhabel a few hands later when his {a-Spades}{7-Clubs} held up against the {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} of the German.

At the other table, Kyriakos Papadopoulos doubled up through chip leader Ehsan Amiri when his {a-Spades}{k-Spades} dominated the Aussie's {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.
