Kehoe Finishing the Day Strong

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Stephen Kehoe
Stephen Kehoe

With about 30,000 in the pot on the river on a completed board of {8-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades}, Fred Coranson faced an all-in bet for his last 20,000 chips by Stephen Kehoe.

Coralson opted to call it off and saw Kehoe show {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a set of kings with a jack kicker.

Coralson frustratedly tossed his cards, revealing the {k-Hearts}, for the final king in the deck, but only a {3-Spades} for his kicker, ending his day short of its completion, while Kehoe is now solidly among the chip leaders.

Baumann Calls Off Most of Stack with Ace High, Over 130,000

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Gaelle Baumann
Gaelle Baumann

With 17,500 in a three-bet pot on a {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades} board, Gaelle Baumann opened to 6,000 from the big blind and Josef Blazek was rather quick to call.

On the {j-Clubs} turn, Baumann continued for 17,000 and Blazek took his time before making the call.

The river brought the {6-Diamonds} and Baumann took nearly 90 seconds before checking over to Blazek. Blazek needed about 90 seconds himself before putting in a bet of 30,000, which was equal to 60% of Baumann's stack.

Baumann deliberated for over two-and-a-half minutes before finding a call.

Blazek could only show {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Baumann turned over {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for ace-high and took down a pot of over 100,000 chips.

Lampropulos Plays it Safe on Scary Board

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Maria Lampropulos raised to 2,500 in early position and was called by Chakib M'hiri in the small blind and Casper von Schantz in the big blind.

The trio checked the {9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop, but on the {7-Diamonds} turn M'hiri led out for 7,000. von Schantz folded but Lampropulos made the call.

The river brought the {q-Clubs}, putting three to a flush and four to a straight on board. M'hiri now checked and after about a minute of thought, Lampropulos opted to check as well.

M'hiri showed {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for a flopped two pair, but Lampropulos showed {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for a rivered set of queens for the winner.

A fun table has been put together during the final level of play in day 1b.

Patrik Antonius, Chino Rheem, and Henrik Hecklen are seated side by side, with one of the chip leaders, Vincent Mozgawa sitting to their immediate left.

In a hand immediately after Mozgawa leaned over and took a selfie with Antonius, it was the Finnish legend raising to 2,700 in the cutoff.

He was quickly met with a three-bet to 9,000 by Rheem to his immediate left on the button.

Antonius folded and was shown {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} by Rheem, who has continually built a healthy stack throughout the day.

Quenneville Building Another Stack

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Troy Quenneville had a large stack for part of day 1a, but busted late in the day. He's back today and building more towers which he hopes to carry into Day 2.

In a recent hand, Quenneville raised to 2,400 in the cutoff and was three-bet on the button to 8,000 by Romain Le Dantec. Quenneville came back with a four-bet to 23,700 and was met with a five-bet jam for 79,000. Quenneville called and was in great shape to bust Le Dantec and add a big chunk to his stack.

Romain Le Dantec: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Troy Quenneville: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, bringing no help to Le Dantec and sending him to the rail.
