Baldini Eliminated on Money Bubble

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Claudio Baldini had gotten his 42,000 chips in from middle position and was at risk against Stipe Orec on the button.

Claudio Baldini: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Stipe Orec: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}

Baldini was in good shape for a double, although the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop provided Orec with a gutshot draw. The {6-Clubs} turn changed nothing, but the {j-Diamonds} spiked the river to eliminate Baldini on the money bubble, prompting cheers from the room. Baldini tapped the table and fist-bumped his opponent as he made his exit, while the 225 survivors bagged for the night.

Stay tuned for a recap of the day and end-of-day counts.

Wheeler Wheeled Out on Bubble +1

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The board on the river was {j-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades} and three players were still in the hand, with Jason Wheeler all in.

Wheeler was instructed to turn over his cards first, and he revealed {10-Hearts}{5-Spades} for 10 high. The other two players then turned over their hands.

Andras Nemath: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Gergely Kulcsar: {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Nemath won the pot with his pair of kings, and therefore Wheeler was eliminated two spots away from the money.

Monnier Wins Flip Versus Mazerolle

Level 16 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Lucas Monnier ended up getting his 81,000 chips in from early position and was at risk against Hugues Mazerolle under the gun.

Lucas Monnier: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Hugues Mazerolle: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop gave Monnier more outs, and the {9-Spades} turn gave him a straight. Monnier still needed to avoid the board pairing, and the {4-Diamonds} river confirmed his double.
