Aido's Ladies Make Him Bust

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Sergio Aido 2019 EPT SHR Victory
Sergio Aido 2019 EPT SHR Victory

Sergio Aido, who is second on Spain's all-time money list and is no stranger to the European Poker Tour having secured his biggest live cash in the 2019 EPT Monte Carlo Super High Roller for €1,589,190, is on the felt and looking for more EPT success in Barcelona.

Kitty Kuo opened to 2,200 from middle position and Sergio Aido jammed for approximately 20,000 in the small blind. Ivan Vilchez rejammed in the big blind, and Kuo appeared to show {4-}{4-} before mucking her hand.

Sergio Aido: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Ivan Vilchez: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Aido was ahead with the ladies, but the {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop put him in rough shape. The {6-Diamonds} turn left him needing a river queen, but the {6-Clubs} completed the board to send the Spaniard to the rail.

Cifuentes Drawing Dead with Quads

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Guillermo Cifuentes was all in and at-risk preflop against Josef Huber who was a large stack at the time.

Guillermo Cifuentes: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Josef Huber: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Cifuentes was a slight favorite going in, and the flop of {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} gave him a full house, but the {9-Clubs} on the turn was brutal as it left him drawing dead to Huber's quads with an ace-kicker.

The river {6-Hearts} was meaningless and Cifuentes exited the table as Huber was pushed the pot to further increase his stack over the 100,000 mark.

On a heads-up turn of {6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, the pot was already 15,000 when Simeon Naydenov moved all in for 24,000.

His opponent, Marco Walgreen, shook his head but threw in a call chip anyway, putting Naydenov at risk.

Simeon Naydenov: {q-Spades}{6-Spades}
Marco Walgreen: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Naydenov was ahead with his turned two-pair, but Walgreen could still hit an ace, ten or seven for the win.

However, the river was the {4-Spades} which awarded Naydenov the pot for a double-up.

Macchiarelli Makes Opponent Muck

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Rui Martins opened under-the-gun to 12,000 and action folded around to Luciano Macciarelli on the button, who then decided to raise the price of poker to 4,000.

Xhavit Berisha defended from the big blind and Martins managed to get away from it. The heads-up players then saw a flop of {6-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Berisha checked to Macchiarelli, who continued for 3,000.

Berisha made the call and they went to the {3-Hearts} turn, where Berisha checked again and Macchiarelli fired for 11,000.

Berisha threw his cards into the muck and Macchiarelli was pushed the pot.
