Lovgren Doubles to Stay Alive

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Sofia Lovgren
Sofia Lovgren

There was a raise to 2,100 from the button and the small blind had called. Sofia Lovgren was in the big blind and pushed all in for 6,800. The button re-raised to just over 16,000 which got the small blind out of the way.

Sofia Lovgren: {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Button: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The flop came {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and Lovgren took the lead with a pair of kings. Her opponent still had outs to an ace or ten, only six cards left in the deck. The {2-Clubs} on the turn and the {8-Spades} on the river bricked out and Lovgren held on for a double up.

Nakache Gives Some Back to Sitbon

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Just minutes after picking up a healthy amount of chips, Patrick Nakache was unable to hold on to them for very long. A completed board of {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades} was spread across the table and Nakache was heads-up with Julien Sitbon.

With around 15,000 in the pot already, Nakache threw in a bet of 12,000 from the big blind. Sitbon deliberated for a moment before tossing in his chips in a motion towards Nakache. Nakache flipped over {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for just a pair of sixes while Sitbon showed {k-Hearts}{j-Spades} for a king-high flush.

Diaz Continues to Apply Pressure

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Ruslan Lukash raised it up from the cutoff and was called by the button and the big blind. The flop fell {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Lukash continued with a bet. Only the button called and the {q-Spades} paired the board on the turn.

Lukash tossed in a bet of 7,700 into a pot of over 10,000 and his opponent still called. The river was the {9-Hearts} and Lukash quickly jammed all in. The button had a decision to make for his remaining 22,000 chips but soon decided to lay his hand down, vaulting Lukash over 100,000 chips.

Nakache Wins the Battle of the Blinds

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

The action folded around to the small blind who appeared to be in a hurry to get his chips in the middle. He shoved all in for a little over 15,000 but was snap-called by Patrick Nakache in the big blind.

Small Blind: {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Patrick Nakache: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to give Nakache top pair but his opponent held the only heart for a flush draw. The {8-Diamonds} on the turn and the {a-Clubs} on the river secured the pot for Nakache who eliminated his opponent.

Paris Doubles Up

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

With 14,100 in the pot, while the flop read {2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, Bryan Paris had called from the small blind for the 22,800 he had behind as his opponent in the big blind put him all-in.

Bryan Paris: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Big Blind: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Paris had flopped the nut flush draw but his opponent was ahead with the higher kicker.

The turn was the {4-Hearts} for Paris to pick up some extra outs to double up with the wheel draw and the dealer gave him what he was hoping for as the {3-Hearts} completed the board.

Colillas Sends Panetti to the Rail

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

There was a raise to 1,200 in early position and Ramon Colillas re-raised to 3,500 from the hijack. The cutoff called along with Christophe Panetti in the big blind. The three players saw a flop of {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} which stirred up some action.

Colillas continued with a bet of 4,000 and the cutoff min-raised to 8,000. Panetti just called and Colillas countered with a three-bet to 24,000. The cutoff laid his hand down and Panetti stuck in the last of his 19,000 chips.

Christophe Panetti: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Ramon Colillas: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The {9-Clubs} on the turn gave Panetti some more outs with a pair and a flush draw but the {2-Clubs} on the river was a brick as Colillas collected the last of Panetti's chips.
