Dupu Gets Duped Into a Double

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

After defending his big blind with a short stack, Paul Dupu announced call after the {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, not realising that it meant his all-in for the last 43,000. The dealer called for the floor but Dupu shrugged and put his chips in anyways out of the big blind to face Javier Gomez in showdown.

Paul Dupu: {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Javier Gomez: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The {j-Diamonds} turn delivered the straight and the {k-Hearts} river changed nothing anymore, keeping Dupu in contention.

Babincev Triples; Said Takes Side Pot

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Before the blinds went up, Sergej Babincev had all of his 44,000 chips committed to the pot in early position, while Kazuhiko Yotsushika had approximately 100,000 committed to the pot in middle position and was facing a jam for 308,000 by Tahar Said in the cutoff. Yotsushika thought about it and called.

Sergej Babincev: {8-Spades}{6-Spades}
Tahar Said: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Kazuhiko Yotsushika: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

"I win?" Babincev said hopefully.

Indeed, the board ran out {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Spades} to deliver Babincev a rivered flush to give him a short-stacked triple, while Said took the sizable side pot.

Baumann Wins With Ace-High

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Gaelle Baumann raised to 25,000 from the hijack position and Raymond Attal called from the small blind before Florian Guimond came along from the big blind.

The flop was {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Attal and Guimond checked and Baumann continued for 28,000. Attal called and Guimond folded.

Both remaining players checked the {5-Diamonds} turn and {3-Clubs} river. Attal turned over {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}, but Baumann had {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for the better ace-high.

Guimond is on a red hot run and now sits at 1,200,000, while Attal had made the most of Day 2 with 840,000 as the second day of the tournament enters the late stages.

Ilan Cohen: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Shehadeh Eliminated by Lukash

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Luigi Shehadeh
Luigi Shehadeh

Following a flop of {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Luigi Shehadeh in a middling position check-raised to 129,000 and received a call from table neighbour Ruslan Lukash. They headed to the {6-Clubs} turn on which Shehadeh checked and subsequently called a bet worth 70,000 by Lukash.

The {3-Spades} fell on the river and Shehadeh moved all-in for around 170,000 to pick up a snap-call by Lukash. Shehadeh turned over the {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for the nut flush but Lukash had the best of it with {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for a turned full house.

Rene Zaffran
Rene Zaffran

On a heads-up turn of {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{a-Spades}, Rene Zaffran bet 30,000 and Kazuhiko Yotsushika then check-jammed all-in for what appeared to be 125,000. The instant call of Zaffran followed and both players turned over top pair.

Kazuhiko Yotsushika: {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Rene Zaffran: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The kicker played once the board completed with the {6-Diamonds} river, sending Yotsushika to the payout desk.

Saliba Caught Bluffing by Wojtas

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

With more than 350,000 in the middle already on a completed board of {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades} board, Justin Saliba moved all-in out of the big blind with the covering stack. Jakub Wojtas called all-in for 196,000 from an early position and Saliba immediately mentioned "I think I cover," which he did.

However, his move with {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a busted flush draw had gone wrong and Wojtas' {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} secured the double.
