Pingray Narrowly Ahead Of Hvam

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Morten Hvam made it 350,000 to go with the {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and Hugo Pingray followed along out of the big blind with the {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. The {j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop brought a check by Pingray, who then check-called a bet worth 275,000.

As the {4-Spades} turn paired the board, Pingray opted to lead for 425,000 and Hvam was sticky to the {5-Hearts} river. The action was now checked through and Pierre Calamusa on the French rail applauded.

Hvam Chops With Pingray

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Morten Hvam made it 350,000 to go from under the gun and Marcelo Simoes then three-bet to 1,250,000 with the {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} in the big blind. The pressure by the Brazilian paid off as Hvam elected to fold.

Hugo Pingray then raised to 350,000 with the {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Hvam called out of the big blind with {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. The {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop went check, check, and the {5-Hearts} followed on the turn. Hvam now bet 450,000 and Pingray called as both players paired up on the {j-Diamonds} river.

Hvam now used one of his time bank extensions before checking, Pingray checked it back and they chopped it up.

Trofimov Pays Off Pingray

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

From under the gun, Dragos Trofimov made it 325,000 to go with {a-Spades}{k-Spades} and Hugo Pingray came along out of the big blind with {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to improve on the {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop. They checked to the {k-Hearts} turn on which Pingray bet 375,000 and Trofimov called.

The {3-Spades} river brought another bet worth 1,200,000 by Pingray, who kept 690,000 behind. Trofimov paid that off with plenty of hesitation to get shown the bad news and drop to the bottom of the leaderboard.

Hvam Three-Bets Successfully

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Dragos Trofimov opened to 325,000 on the button with {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Marcelo Simoes flat-called holding {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} in the small blind. Morten Hvam three-bet to 925,000 out of the big blind with {a-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The rather swift fold by Trofimov folded and Simoes came to the same conclusion.

Some Value for Simoes With Trips

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Following a cutoff raise to 350,000 by Erkan Soenmez with the {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Marcelo Simoes defended {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} in the big blind. The {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Spades} flop was checked by Simoes, who then check-raised from 250,000 to 520,000 and picked up a call by Soenmez.

Near instantly, Simoes bet the {6-Clubs} turn for 1,200,000 and Soenmez snap-folded.

Three-Way Pot to Cervantes

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Jaime Cervantes made it 360,000 to go with the {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} in the cutoff and Erkan Soenmez flat-called with the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} on the button, as did Dragos Trofimov in the big blind with the {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The action was checked around on the {k-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop and they headed to the {3-Clubs} turn.

Once more it was checked all the way to the {2-Hearts} river, which was checked through, too. Cervantes won the pot thanks to his kicker advantage.

Soenmez Jams Up His Stack

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Marcelo Simoes raised to 320,000 with the {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Marcelo Cervantes called on the button with the {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Erkan Soenmez then pushed for 2,935,000 in the small blind with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.

Simoes quickly let go while Cervantes had a brief decision before folding.

"You had a pair?" Cervantes asked and Soenmez replied "no ... ace queen suited."

Another Move by Soenmez is Not Rewarded

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Marcelo Simoes made it 255,000 to go on the button with {a-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Jaime Cervantes opted to defend the {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop was checked by both players and the {j-Clubs} followed on the turn. Once more, both players checked and they headed to the {6-Diamonds} river.

The action was checked through once more and Cervantes showed some frustration as the pot was shipped to Simoes.

Cervantes limped the small blind with the {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Erkan Soenmez raised the {3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} to 395,000 for Cervantes to stick around. On a flop of {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Cervantes check-called a bet worth 280,000 and faced another bet worth 490,000 by Soenmez on the {9-Clubs} turn.

The {2-Hearts} river was checked behind by Soenmez, who dropped to the bottom of the leaderboard in the final hand of the level. Upon conclusion of the hand, the six remaining players went on the third 20-minute break of the day.
