Farrell Shoves, Lauck Folds

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Jonas Lauck and Niall Farrell were heads-up with over 60,000 in the pot and a full board of {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Farrell was considering his options before he carefully slid his entire stack of around 70,000 into the middle, which sent Lauck deep into the tank. After several minutes of consideration, Lauck opted to fold and give up the pot.

Farrell has chipped up over the 100K mark in late Day 1a action as the tournament nears the final level.

Adams Loses Small Pot to Pardo; Enjoys Wine

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a limped pot to the {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, Juan Pardo bet 1,200 and Timothy Adams called. The bet size on the {a-Clubs} turn went up a notch as both players invested 5,000. They checked the {a-Spades} on the river and Pardo's {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} won the pot.

Adams, who is based in Finland, then cheered with fellow Canadian and High Roller regular Daniel Dvoress as they indulged in a glass of white wine. That's contradictory to the chosen beverage of his chosen home base of Finland as they reign in the penultimate level with beers, as confirmed by Tobias Anttila and Aku Joentausta.

Fuchs Doesn't Want Suckout; Gets It Anyways

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a battle of shorter stacks, Patrick Faraut bet the {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} turn for 20,000 while in the big blind. Fabrizio Fuchs in the under-the-gun position was his only opponent and he called all-in for fewer than that after some consideration.

As Faraut turned over his {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, Fuchs could barely see them on the other side of the table. Once he spotted them and revealed his {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, he said "no six please". The rest is explained in brief, as the {6-Spades} fell on the river.

"Let me take a souvenir," the Frenchman inquired from the dealer as he snapped a picture of the bad beat before waving his goodbyes.

Margets Gets a Shove Through on the Turn

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was heads-up with {j-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} on the board and nearly 40,000 in the pot when Leo Margets checked from the cutoff. Ferenc Deak bet 13,000 from the button and Margets shoved her remaining 40,000.

Deak went deep into the tank before finally emerging with a fold to give Margets another pot as she makes her way to the 100K mark in the late stages of Day 1a.

Anttila Chips Up Through Castelluccio

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Heads-up to the {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds} river, Tobias Anttila bet 11,000 in the hijack. He only had to get through Sergio Castelluccio, who tanked on the button and eventually tossed in calling chips. Anttila tabled the {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a full house and Castelluccio mucked his cards with force.

Kovalevskiy Doubles Through D'Anselmo

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Serafim Kovalevskiy opened to 2,500 and received two callers. Out of the big blind, Nicola D'Anselmo pushed for 42,100 and Kovalevskiy called all-in for just shy of that. The other two opponents got out of the way and the cards were exposed.

Serafim Kovalevskiy: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Nicola D'Anselmo: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop gave D'Anselmo more outs but Kovalevskiy locked up the double with the {q-Spades} turn, making the {2-Spades} river a formality. D'Anselmo was left with fumes but stuck around for now.

Trevity Makes Straight to Bounce Benyeffou

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Ikam Benyeffou open-shoved for around 20,000 and Ewen Trevidy called. The rest of the table was out of the way and action was heads up with Benyeffou at risk.

Ikam Benyeffou: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Ewen Trevidy: {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Spades} and Trevity spiked a straight on the river to eliminate Benyeffou in the late stages of Day 1a.

Buhaiov Wins Without Showdown

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a battle of the blinds to the {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, Nazar Buhaiov bet the minimum for 1,200 and Yuri Dzivielevski raised to 3,600 from one seat over for Buhaiov to call.

The {2-Spades} turn was checked and Buhaiov min-bet again the {6-Diamonds} river. Dzivielevski now raised to 15,000 and Buhaiov tanked for more than three minutes before he made the call with a single chip. Dzivielevski sent his cards into the muck and Buhaiov won the pot without needing to show his cards.
