Bayer Falls to Smiljkovic
Level 16
: Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mathias Bayer was down to 8,000 and open-jammed from the cutoff before Daniel Smiljkovic three-bet to 20,000 in the small blind to get things heads up.
Daniel Smiljkovic: A♦2♣
Mathias Bayer: A♣8♦
"Chop?" asked Smiljkovic as Bayer shrugged with indifference.
The flop of 6♥8♣6♦ did indeed create some chop opportunities, but the board then finished out 4♣K♠ to keep Bayer ahead and to mark Smiljkovic's elimination with the money bubble looming.
