Lococo Down Early; Stars Joining the Field

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Konstantin Voronin raised to 800 on the button before Alejandro Lococo three-bet to 4,000 in the small blind. Voronin called and they went heads-up to the 2JJ flop.

Lococo then continued for 3,000 and Voronin called. The turn came the Q and Lococo slowed down and checked as Voronin fired out 6,600.

Lococo called to the Q river, where Voronin bet another 10,700. Lococo instantly called with AJ, but Voronin showed 108 for a flush to win the pot off the Team PokerStars Pro.

The field on Day 1a has started to creep into another area of the Merit Royal Diamond tournament area. Players recently taking their seats in this part of the room include EPT Barcelona third-place finisher Carl Shaw, Dario Sammartino, and Joao Vieira.

"It's My Friend, World Champion"

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

While 2023 Estrellas Main Event winner Lucien Cohen is doing "a one-man-show" for his second bullet, his friend Suat Uyanik at another table called in the cutoff an open by Robert Fluereci in middle position.

Kairat Turaliyev in the big blind called too, and on AQ10, Uyanik called a continuation-bet to 1,500. He was the only one to do so, as the big blind folded. But on the turn 9, Fluereci bet 4,000. And this time, Uyanik folded.

Moments later, Cohen was coming behind Uynanik shouting "It's my friend, world champion", before posing for the cameras.

Dato Shows the Nuts

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

With around 8,000 in the pot on a board of 10QJ4, Andrea Dato bet 3,900 from the cutoff and Vidar Oie called in the cutoff.

The river came the 9 and Dato moved all in for 15,200. Oie was pained by the decision but eventually decided to call.

Dato then turned over AK for the flopped nut straight and Oie mucked.

At the same time at another table, Jacek Pustula bet 3,000 on a board of 27K10 and Valentin Cristea called in the cutoff, while Brice Flavien folded his big blind.

The river came the 3 and Pustula bet another 8,200. Cristea gave the decision some thought before folding.

Chop It Up

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Aurelijus Sipavicius checked from the big blind after seeing the 1010J flop, with Peter Jorgne firing a bet of 1,200 in the cutoff. Stefan Dimitrov called on the button, leaving the hand heads up once Sipavicius folded.

Jorgne led out for 3,500 on the Q turn, seeing a call from Dimitrov. Jorgne slid out another bet of 4,500 after the 8 river, with Dimitrov tossing in the call.

Jorgne showed A9 for a straight, but it was only good for half of the pot after Dimitrov showed the same straight holding A9 to chop it up.

Oeye Goes All In On the River

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

After an open to 900 by the hijack, Gary Miller, on the button, three-bet. Then in the small blind, Espen Oeye min-raised to 6,200, and made the hijack fold.

Miller called, and called for 2,500 on the flop 54K. The 10 came on the turn, but nobody bet. Maybe Oeye kept his chips just to go all in on the river A for approximately 17,700.

With 13,300 chips remaining, Miller went into the tank, but eventually folded.
