Doubles for Petakovic and Laugt

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Quentin Laugt
Quentin Laugt

Tomas Patka opened to 240,000 from early position and Milos Petakovic three-bet jammed a stack of around 400,000 from the small blind. Patka called with a bigger stack.

Milos Petakovic: 55
Tomas Patka: 109

Petakovic was able to double as the board ran out 2A3K4 to improve him to a wheel.

At the other table, Maher Achour opened to 250,000 from under the gun and Daisuke Ogita three-bet to 700,000 as the player next to act. Quentin Laugt cold-called and Achour also called.

Achour checked on the flop of 3Q9 and Ogita continued for 375,000. Laugt raised to 1,000,000 and Achour folded, while Ogita three-bet all in with his opponent covered. Laugt quickly called.

Quentin Laugt: AA
Daisuke Ogita: KK

It was a cooler as Ogita's kings were in rough shape against Laugt's aces and the 7 turn gave Laugt a lock on things with the nut flush before the meaningless Q river to earn him a double through the chip leader.

Level 29 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Jérémy Palvini
Jérémy Palvini

Jeremy Palvini was all in from the small blind for around 1,400,000 against Maher Achour on the button, who had him covered.

Jeremy Palvini: A7
Maher Achour: AQ

Palvini was dominated but got some help from the 898 flop and the K turn gave him a flush draw. The Q river was the right color but the wrong suit as Palvini was eliminated ahead of the two-table redraw.

Alfonso Simone
Alfonso Simone

The action was picked up on the river in a heads-up pot of roughly 1,500,000 on a board showing J531010. Alfonso Simone moved all in for close to 1,400,000 from under the gun and was snap-called by Rubens Sellam on the button with a bigger stack.

Simone rolled over AA, but Sellam confidently tabled JJ for flopped top set and rivered full house and the winning hand. Simone was eliminated in 18th place for €10,520.

Benjamin Spragg Eliminated in 21st Place (€8,850)

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Ben Spragg
Ben Spragg

Tomas Patka limped in in the small blind and Benjamin Spragg checked his option in the big blind.

Patka checked on the flop of 2104 and Spragg checked back. Patka then bet 160,000 on the J turn and Spragg responded with a raise. Patka then three-bet all in and Spragg quickly called with a smaller stack.

Benjamin Spragg: J2
Tomas Patka: 1010

It was an unfortunate cooler for the PokerStars Team Pro as his two pair was in rough shape against the set of Patka. The A on the river didn't change anything and Spragg told his opponent "nice hand" before heading to the payout counter.

Frederik Thiemer Eliminated In 22nd Place (€8,850)

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Frederik Thiemer
Frederik Thiemer

Daisuke Ogita opened to 200,000 on the button and Frederik Thiemer put in a three-bet to 630,000 from the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Ogita called.

The flop fanned out 774 and Thiemer check-called a bet of 300,000 from Ogita. On the Q turn Thiemer elected to take the betting lead with a sizing of 1,000,000, which Ogita called.

The 2 hit the river and Thiemer took a few seconds before announcing all in for 3,900,000 and Ogita went in the tank. After close to 30 seconds of thought, Ogita made the call and the cards were tabled.

Thiemer looked sick as he rolled over A4 for only a pair of fours and Ogita tabled AK for the nut-flush to eliminate Thiemer in 22nd place and scoop the largest pot of the tournament.

Wheeler Manifests Way to Double

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Jason Wheeler
Jason Wheeler

Jason Wheeler open-jammed a stack of around 650,000 from middle position and Daisuke Ogita re-shoved from the next seat to get things heads-up.

Jason Wheeler: 55
Daisuke Ogita: JJ

The flop of Q4Q had Wheeler drawing to just two outs, but he was unfazed as he called for a "five on the turn."

Right on schedule, the dealer put down the 5 on the turn and the 3 river didn't change anything for Wheeler to stay alive.

"Five on the turn, he said," commented Benjamin Spragg. "He's a real manifester, this guy."

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Frederik Thiemer
Frederik Thiemer

Inigo Naveiro opened to 110,000 in the cutoff and Frederik Thiemer called on the button as the small and big blinds also defended.

Action checked to Naveiro on the flop of 6J5 and he bet 185,000. Only Thiemer called. Naveiro then checked on the K turn and Thiemer put out a large bet of around 700,000. Naveiro quickly folded as Thiemer turned over a semi-bluff with 87 for an open-ended straight flush draw.

"If you jam, I call," Thiemer told Naveiro as the two discussed the hand.

"You can't call!" Naveiro laughed after conceding the pot.

Rahou Puts Pressure On Spragg

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Ben Spragg
Ben Spragg

The action was picked up in a three-way pot with roughly 350,000 in the middle on a flop showing K102. Benjamin Spragg checked from the big blind to Adel Rahou under the gun who bet out 140,000. Stefan Dimitrov folded from the cutoff and Spragg made the call.

On the 3 turn Spragg checked again and Rahou sized up to 380,000. Spragg went deep in the tank, but after several minutes of thought, let his cards go and the pot was sent to Rahou.

"Big hand?" asked Spragg to Rahou while he stacked up his chips.

"Yes very big. Better than king-queen," replied Rahou.
