Tomas Patka Leads Final Eight After Day 3 in €1,100 FPS Main Event

The penultimate day of the €1,100 FPS Main Event as part of PokerStars EPT presented by Monte-Carlo Casino® has wrapped up with a final table of eight players remaining out of the 55 that started the day. Leading the way is Slovakia's Tomas Patka, who is looking for his first major poker title as he will enter Day 4 with a stack of 16,350,000.
Patka, who got some of those chips when he eliminated Maher Achour in the final hand of the day, will be joined by fellow big stacks Daisuke Ogita (13,725,000) and Quentin Laugt (10,725,000), as well as middling stacks Anatoly Chen (8,525,000) and Adel Rahou (6,550,000), as well as Stefan Dimitrov (3,525,000). Maksym Mamon (2,625,000) and Rubens Sellam (2,150,000) will have their work cut out for them tomorrow as the short stacks.

Day 2 Action
The field of 55 quickly divided in half during the first two hours of play as dozens of players were eliminated, including Omar Del Pino (48th - €5,050), Andreas Vlachos (34th - €5,820) and Renat Bohdanov (28th - €6,680). Jason Wheeler, one of the most accomplished and experienced players in the field, fell in 25th place ahead of the three-table redraw to take home €7,700.
One of the biggest hands of the tournament took place shortly after as Day 2 chip leader Frederik Thiemer made a colossal river bluff with bottom pair only to run into the nut flush of Ogita, who took a massive chip lead that he held up until the final few hours of play.
The young German was poised to make a serious run. Unfortunately for him, he had to settle for a 22nd-place finish worth €8,850.
Lots of eyes were on Team PokerStars Pro Benjamin Spragg as he navigated through the Day 3 field. A few double-ups kept "Spraggy" afloat until a blind versus blind cooler where his turned two pair was no good against the flopped set of Patka to go out in 21st place for €8,850.
A few hours later, Spain's Inigo Naveiro was eliminated on the final table bubble when he open-jammed with queen-nine and couldn't improve against the ace-jack of Adel Rahou, who had re-shoved to get things heads-up against the Day 1c chip leader.
Day 4 action will commence Sunday at noon local time and will continue in Level 32 with blinds of 125,000/250,000/250,000 and 21 minutes and 57 seconds left to play. The live-streamed event will play down to a winner, who will earn the trophy and the top prize of €307,160.

Ogita Pulls The Double Check-Raise To Score Chip Lead Pot

Daisuke Ogita opened the action to 550,000 from under the gun and it folded to Quentin Laugt in middle position who three-bet to 1,300,000. The rest of the table got out of the way and Ogita made the call.
The flop fanned out A♣A♦9♦ and Ogita checked to Laugt who continued for 600,000. Ogita elected to check-raise to 1,200,000 and Laugt came along.
On the Q♦ turn Ogita slowed down with a check to Laugt who took a moment before sliding out a bet of 2,000,000. Ogita pondered for a moment before moving all in for over 7,000,000. Laugt quickly tossed his cards to the dealer and Ogita scooped the pot to regain the chip lead.
