Kassouf Scoops Four-Bet Pot for Chip Lead

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
William Kassouf
William Kassouf

The action was caught on the flop, but Will Kassouf was kind enough to tell PokerNews how the preflop action went down.

Apparently, Marco Leonzio raised to 6,000 without looking at his cards, as he had been doing, and Kassouf made it 21,000 to go. Leonzio responded with a four-bet to 42,000 and Kassouf made the call.

The flop was spread as 5AK and Leonzio shipped in his above-average 120,000 stack in the middle. Kassouf commentated on the alcohol consumption of his opponent before ''giving him a spin'' and making the call with the covering stack.

Marco Leonzio: 84
Will Kassouf: A5

Kassouf needed to fade hearts to scoop the huge pot. He begged the dealer for black cards and the universe must have been listening as the 7 and 4 completed the board.

Leonzio left the tournament area while Kassouf stacked all of his newly acquired chips. He is now playing near ten starting stacks and is far and above the rest of the field.

Konnikova's Continuation-Bet Works

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Maria Konnikova raised to 6,000 from middle position and both blinds Damien Luis and Marton Czuczor made the call.

On the flop of K69, Konnikova fired out a single bet of 8,000 after both players checked. She took down the pot this way, as the players mucked their hands.

This small win elevated Konnikova's stack to six figures, comfortably above average.

Chavalme Hits River for Much-Needed Triple

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Cedric Chavalme had put in his last 11,500 chips and received a call from Volodymyr Drokin. Terence Etim then made the three-bet all in, covering Drokin's stack as well. Drokin did not want to risk it all and let his hand go.

Cedric Chavalme: A9
Terence Etim: AJ

Chavalme stood up as he lacked faith in a good outcome and the age-old trick worked out when he rivered two pair on A2349. Etim's dominating hand did not hold up postflop and Chavalme tripled back to starting stack.

Shylko Takes From Talbot

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Aliaksandr Shylko
Aliaksandr Shylko

Parker Talbot raised to 4,000 from the cutoff and Aliaksandr Shylko sat in the big blind, asking for an approximation of Talbot's stack.
Talbot gave it to him, and added ''It'd be a show if you fold now''. No show for Shylko, as he put in the calling chips.

The flop fell 9K4 and Talbot put out a continuation-bet of 3,000 after a check from Shylko. Shylko then put in the check-raise to 10,000, which Talbot called. The turn was the 10 and it saw another bet from Shylko, for 14,000 this time. This was too much for Talbot, who folded within seconds.
