Conor Beresford: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Kisacikoglu Can't Win with Big Slick

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

Niklas Astedt raised to 40,000 in the cutoff and Orpen Kisacikoglu shipped all in for 125,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Astedt made the call for a little bit more.

Orpen Kisacikoglu: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Niklas Astedt: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The flop of {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} gave both players a pair but Kisacikoglu was still out front with the pair of aces. The {8-Clubs} on the turn gave Astedt a straight draw but he didn't need it as the {j-Hearts} on the river gave him two pair. Kisacikoglu was eliminated and the final nine players will redraw to the final table now.

PokerStars Apologizes for 'Subpar Experience' for Some at EPT Paris Festival

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
EPT Paris
EPT Paris

After getting several complaints from players about the currently underway European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris festival, PokerStars issued a statement apologizing for "the subpar experience some of you have had at EPT Paris."

The festival is taking place at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile, a venue that hasn't been the most popular among players due to its limited space, tight hallways, and registration process. Many were startled when they went to register for the record-breaking €1,100 FPS Paris Main Event only to learn that the event was at capacity and they'd be unable to do so.

In a statement issued on Feb. 18, Cedric Billot, Head of Live Events Global Operations for PokerStars, personally apologized for the issues experienced by players at the first-ever EPT stop in France, a country with its own unique gambling rules and restrictions. The statement also provided information for players looking to register for the EPT Main Event to ensure the smoothest experience possible.

Pedro Garagnani raised in early position and was called by Teun Mulder in the big blind.

The players checked to the river on the {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{k-Spades} board and Mulder led out for a meaty 160,000.

Garagnani gave his decision some thought before ultimately choosing to fold.

Astedt Shortens Davies

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

In a limped pot in the blinds with a flop of {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, Seth Davies checked in the small blind and Niklas Astedt checked in the big.

On the {5-Diamonds} turn, Davies checked again and Astedt now bet 50,000, which Davies called.

The {a-Hearts} fell on the river and Davies checked a third time. Astedt now bet 150,000, which was a bit more than half of Davies' remaining stack.

Davies slid all six of his remaining time bank cards forward and as davies thought about his decision, the dealer pulled one away every 30 seconds.

With three time banks remaining Davies folded his hand to send the pot to his neighbor.
