Spekman Double Leaves Astedt on Fumes

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Denzel Spekman

Over on the outer table, Peter Jorgne and Saar Wilf claimed the blinds and big blind ante with successful open raises.

The third raise in a row came from Niklas Astedt as he made it 160,000 to go. Denzel Spekman in the small blind three-bet to 550,000 and it folded back to Astedt, who clicked it back to 1,150,000. Spekman then five-bet all-in and Astedt snap-called.

Denzel Spekman: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Niklas Astedt: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

With both players holding near even stack sizes, it would be a crucial showdown on the outer tables and Astedt had the best of it. That, however, changed on the {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop as Spekman improved to jacks full.

Now it was Astedt with just two outs, which he missed on the {5-Hearts} turn and {3-Spades} river. Both stacks were counted as Spekman doubled for 2,600,000, leaving Astedt on just over two blinds.
