Bastos Flops a Set

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Marek Sulc opened from under the gun to 300, with Stefano Scippa calling in the cutoff. Eugenio Bastos then slid out a three-bet to 1,200 on the button, producing a fold from Sulc and a call from Scippa.

Both players checked after seeing the 2Q7 flop, with Scippa checking again on the K turn. Bastos fired 600 and was called to the 5 river.

Scippa checked on last time and folded after Bastos continued for 1,200. Bastos took down an early pot, showing the table pocket queens for a flopped set.

Mahonen's Bad Start Continues

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Pascal Frezza and Jari Mahonen were heads up when a flop of 4810 was put on the table. Frezza checked from the cutoff before Mahonen put in a bet of 800 from the button. Frezza then raised to 2,500, and Mahonen confirmed the amount before making the call.

The 8 turn was then checked through before Frezza fired a small bet of 2,200 on the 3 river. Mahonen flicked in a call and Frezza tabled A10 for top pair.

"Kicker problems," Mahonen declared as he flashed his 10x before tossing his cards into the muck.

Alexandridis Bombs the River

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Heads up on a flop of 25J, Symeon Alexandridis checked from the big blind to Bartłomiej Basiaga, who bet 300 on the button. Alexandridis then check-raised to 1,200 and Basiaga called.

Alexandridis continued for 700 on the J turn and Basiaga again called.

The A completed the board and Alexandridis cut out an overbet of 8,000 and placed it into the middle. Basiaga thought better of it after tanking for a bit and folded — conceding the pot to Alexandridis.

Kolarik First Casualty of the Eureka Main Event

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

The action was caught on the river, where Tomas Kolarik checked to Stefan Drusca. Drusca then put Kolarik all-in on the board of AJ26K, for roughly 7,500 chips, around the same size as the pot.

Kolarik immediately called but regretted his decision when Drusca tabled JJ for a set of jacks. Kolarik tabled his KJ for the inferior hand and swiftly left the tournament area.

Schneiders Surprised With Victory

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Ioannis Taramas, Felix Schneiders, and Emmanuel Wouters gathered 4,000 chips in the middle when the AQ2 flop was dealt. All three players checked, as did they on the J turn.

The 2 river then also checked through, and Wouters showed his 94, playing the board. Schneiders then tabled 88 for two pair, and Taramas quickly mucked his cards.

"Eights won? Insane," exclaimed Schneiders while he raked in the pot.

Millian Doubles Through Lamprou

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Benjamin Millian already had a raise of 1,300 in front of him from early position and was reraised to 2,800 by Spyridon Lamprou in the cutoff. Millian called.

Millian checked to Lamprou on the J8J flop and he continued for 2,100. Millian then check-raised to 7,000 and Lamprou called.

Millian shoved for 17,500 after the 8 turn double-paired the board, sending Lamprou deep into the tank. Lamprou eventually decided to call to put Millian at risk.

Benjamin Millian: AJ
Spyridon Lamprou: KK

Lamprou was drawing slim against Millian's full house and the 7 river bricked out for Lamprou, who was left with just 5,000 following the hand.

Losi and Hysaj Win Early Pots

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

In a modest pot of 2,000 chips, Vanni Losi led out for 500 chips from the small blind on a board of 5J64. Fellow Italian Mauro Fungo called from the button before both players checked down the 10 river.

Losi showed KJ and his top pair was good enough to rake in an early pot.

On another table, a more sizable pot of 11,500 chips had been gathered when the completed board of 103JAK laid on the table.

Eljano Hysaj then added another 7,200 to that from the button, but Jong-Hak Lim quickly check-folded from under the gun, awarding the pot to Hysaj.
