Tajiou Takes it on the River

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Mounir Tajiou
Mounir Tajiou

Mounir Tajiou opened 6,000 on the button, and both Nozomu Shimizu and Sirzat Hissou came along in the blinds.

All three players checked to the 6437 turn, where Shimizu checked once more and Hissou fired 10,000. Tajiou called, while Shimizu folded.

The 10 landed on the river, and Hissou checked. Tajiou went into the tank, using two time chips before betting 50,000. Hissou paused for a few seconds and pitched it into the muck.

"Did you have a good hand?" Asked Hissou.

"I can't remember," Tajiou responded, "I have a fish brain."

Hissou Ships Four-Way Pot

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Sirzat Hissou open-raised to 5,500 from the hijack. Rui Querido Martins called from the button, Enrico Camosci did so from the small blind, and Joakim Andersson came along from the big blind as well.

The 910Q flop was checked to Hissou, who continued for 7,000 chips. Only Camosci made the call while the other two players folded their hands.

On the 6 turn, Camosci checked and Hissou bet 16,000. Camosci took his time before putting in a call, after which the 5 river completed the board.

After another check from Camosci, Hissou fired 30,000 chips in the middle. This time, Camosci opted to let his hand go, forfeiting the pot to Hissou.

PokerStars Announces Full Five Stop 2024 EPT Schedule; Paris and Cyprus Return

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
EPT 2024
EPT 2024

PokerStars has unveiled the full schedule for the 2024 European Poker Tour (EPT) season, which shows five destinations, including a return to EPT Paris and EPT Cyprus. Both Paris and Cyprus made their EPT debut in 2023, and they return for 2024, much to the delight of the players.

EPT Paris is the first stop of the 2024 European Poker Tour season. It takes place between February 14-25 at a new venue. The stunning Le Palais des Congres has a 120-table capacity, meaning there will be a more extensive schedule for the festival. Cedric Billot, Associate Director for Live Events and Operations, believes the new-look EPT Paris could be one of the largest EPT festivals on record.

Sixes Good Enough for Tanemura

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Kazuyuki Tanemura opened to 6,000 from the hijack and Juha Helppi was his only caller in the big blind.

A A27 flop saw the Japanese again lead out to 6,000 after it was checked to him. Helppi called and it went to a turn.

The 5 came and Helppi checked it once more to Tanemura. The bet this time was 13,000, which was again called by the Finn.

Both checked down on the Q river. Helppi tabled J5, but Tanemura took it down with 66 just before the break.

No Showdown for Hissou

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Sirzat Hissou limped his small blind and Fahredin Mustafov checked his option.

The dealer fanned a flop of 763, and Hissou check-raised a bet of 3,000 to 8,000. Mustafov called.

When the 8 fell on the turn, both players tapped the table and the A fell on the river. Hissou fired 11,000, and that was enough to earn the pot.

Helppi Reenters After Being Outkicked

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Juha Helppi
Juha Helppi

Andras Nemeth open-raised from the button before Juha Helppi three-bet to 20,000 from the small blind. Nemeth put in the call, leading to a 2J9 flop being dealt.

Helppi checked to Nemeth, who put in a bet of 15,000 chips. Helppi then raised to 75,000, over half his stack, and Nemeth shrugged as he shoved. Helppi made a quick call and the cards went on their backs.

Juha Helppi: KJ
Andras Nemeth: AJ

Both players paired their jack, but Nemeth had the better kicker with his ace. The A turn gave him two pair. The Q river completed the board and Helppi was already headed to the reentry desk.
