Double Bubble Sees Martin and and Sanz Go Home Empty-Handed

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

As hand-for-hand play got underway, just one more player needed to be eliminated for before the flight could come to a close. Players needed to make Day 2 in order to make the money, but for two unlucky souls, their hopes of cashing came crashing down.

Firstly, Jack Hardcastle limped in for 8,000 from middle position and Victor Hugo Goncalves Martins was forced all in from the big blind.

Victor Hugo Goncalves Martins: 85 All in
Jack Hardcastle: KQ

No surprises came on the 6AK3J runout which meant Martins was one of the day's bubble boys.

On the adjacent table, Lucas Rocha had raised to 16,000 from under the gun and Ignacio Sanz three-bet to 40,000 in the hijack. Shuangyi Ye then shoved from the big blind which got Rocha to fold, but Sanz called off the remainder of his stack which put him at risk.

Ignacio Sanz: JJ All in
Shuangyi Ye: QQ

Again, the board delivered nothing out of the ordinary as the 10249A runout meant Sanz was the second player to be eliminated on the bubble.

Sanz Rivers a Flush to Eliminate Khorchidian

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Ignacio Sanz opened to 8,000 from middle position and Jacek Skiscim called from the hijack. Nichan Khorchidian also called from the big blind.

On the 8A8 flop, it checked to Sanz who continued for 12,000, which only Khorchidian called.

Khorchidian shoved on the 2 turn for 34,000, and Sanz reluctantly made the call.

Nichan Khorchidian: A3 All in
Ignacio Sanz: 99

Khorchidian was in the lead but needed to fade a nine or a diamond on the river to secure the double-up. However, that was a feat that the Lebanese player couldn't achieve as the 10 fell on the river, which eliminated him.

Lady Luck For Lampropulos on the River

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Maria Lampropulus
Maria Lampropulus

Lukasz Ciechanowicz had opened preflop from the button and Rafik Chelihi shoved for 64,500 in the small blind. Maria Lampropulos then also shoved from the big blind for around 75,000, and Ciechanowicz folded.

Rafik Chelihi: 99 All in
Maria Lampropulos: AQ

It was a fair fight that looked to be going Chelihi's way as his pocket nines remained ahead on the 108108 board but a Q on the river saw Lampropulos pair her queen, which was enough to eliminate Chelihi.

Hallaert Eliminates Fugivala

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Kenny Hallaert
Kenny Hallaert

With around 25,000 chips in the middle on a board of 53J2, Kenny Hallaert had shoved the turn which left Barbara Akemi Fugivala with the decision for her entire stack of a little over 20,000. After thinking for quite a while, Fugivala decided to put herself at risk and called.

Barbara Akemi Fugivala: 66 All in
Kenny Hallaert: J10

Fugivala needed a four or a six to survive but the 2 river wasn't any help, which she was eliminated.

Farias Gets Chips From A Stone

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Ignacio Sanz min-raised to 2,400 from under the gun and Diego Beirigo called from the next seat. Herbert Farias then squeezed to 9,000 before Jacob Stone four-bet to 25,600 from the small blind. Sanz and Beirigo both folded, and Farias shoved. Stone had around 6,000 chips behind and put them all into the pot which left him at risk.

Jacob Stone: AK All in
Herbert Farias: AA

Unfortunate timing for Stone as his Big Slick was a big underdog against the pocket aces of Farias. Despite pairing his king on the KQ7 flop, Stone couldn't improve further as neither the 4 turn nor 3 river could keep his tournament life alive.

Grosso Eliminated With the Nut Flush

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The pot already had 15,000 chips in it on the turn with the board reading 93JJ when Giovanni Grosso checked, Tobias Kirby-Hogarty bet 8,500, and Grosso shoved for around 32,000. Kirby-Hogarty snap-called.

Giovanni Grosso: A5 All in
Tobias Kirby-Hogarty: 99

Despite turning the nut flush, Grosso was drawing dead as Kirby-Hogarty had an unbeatable full house. A J came on the river and Grosso got up out of his seat as the pot was pushed to Kirby-Hogarty.

Mokhtar Runs into Rockets

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Rayane Mokhtar, facing an open, had moved all in from the cutoff for about 25,000 only for Axel Bayout to shove from the button with a covering stack. All other players got out of the way leaving Mokhtar at risk against Bayout.

Rayane Mokhtar: KQ All in
Axel Bayout: AA

Mokhtar was in bad shape against Bayout's aces and found no help on the 376J10 runout, resulting in his elimination while Bayout claimed the last of his chips.
