Brian Sorensen, Michele D'onofrio, and Nick Palma checked a flop of J710 through to see the 8 come on the turn. Sorensen checked from the small blind, then D'onofrio led out for 2,600. Only Palma called.

D'onofrio bet again for 5,000 on the 6 river and got a quick fold from Palma.

Tammel Jams the Turn

Hamed El Mechraa opened the hijack to 2,400 and then called a three-bet from Tarmo Tammel from the cutoff to 7,000.

El Mechraa check-called a 5,100 bet on the J64 flop.

The turn brought the 7 and El Mechraa opted to lead for 10,600. Tammel contemplated for a moment before he announced all in for 27,000, which sent El Mechraa deep into the tank. After a few minutes, he decided to let it go as he conceded a large pot in the direction of Tammel who padded his stack.

Wildhaber Check-Raises into Top Pair

Sven Wildhaber opened the hijack to 2,500 and then called after Dimitrios Anastasakis three-bet to 8,000 from the cutoff.

On the 863 flop, Anastasakis continued for 3,000 before Wildhaber check-raised to 14,000, which was called.

The 4 turn checked through to the 10 river which saw Wildhaber bet 8,500. Anastasakis took some time before he landed on call.

Rabinowitz Sends Benabdelaziz to the Rail

Samir Benabdelaziz opened to 4,200 first-to-act and action folded to Darren Rabinowitz, who verified the the size of the raise before committing his last 25,800 into the middle. It was folded back around to Benabdelaziz, who called all in for 22,200.

Angelescu Leads Into Cazacu

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Adrian Cazacu opened to 2,400 in the hijack and Victor Angelescu defended out of the big blind.

The flop of K38 checked through and Angelescu checked again on the 5 turn. Cazacu bet 3,700 and Angelescu called.

Angelescu then led out for 10,000 on the 7 river and Cazacu went in the tank before throwing his cards into the muck. As he did so, his cards flipped to reveal Kx10x for top pair.

"Good fold," his opponent told him.

A familiar face arrived at Casino Barcelona, eager to challenge some of the world’s top poker players at the PokerStars European Poker Tour stop in Barcelona.

Soccer legend Gerard Piqué took his seat in a €20,000 buy-in tournament, joining a star-studded field that included Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel, triple crown winner Mike Watson, and 2024 WSOP Main Event third-place finisher Niklas Astedt.

Piqué is no stranger to the felt, having played at the World Series of Poker and other EPTs. However, the World Cup winner fell below his usual high standards this time around.

Dubini's Aces Best in Multi-Way Pot

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Richard Dubini opened to 2,500 from middle position and was called by Alexandru Budai in the cutoff, Jeevan Lobo in the small blind, and Yves Thalmann in the big blind for a four-way pot.

Action checked through on the J45 flop and then Lobo led out for 4,000 on the K turn. Thalmann folded, but Dubini raised to 10,500. Budai tanked a bit before deciding to cold-call and Lobo got out of the way.

Both players checked after the 10 completed the board and Dubini tabled AA. Budai couldn't beat it and mucked — awarding the pot to Dubini.

Riba Spikes a Queen to Stay Alive

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

When the action folded to Mariona Riba on the button, she committed her last 10,000 into the middle. Jan Cvach made the call from the small blind to put her at risk.

Cvach's ace-high stayed ahead through the K98 flop, but the Q turn moved Riba into the lead with a pair of queens. The 4 river didn't change anything, and Riba doubled up through Cvach.

In a heads-up pot on a flop of Q2J, Angel Delgado bet 5,000 from under the gun and Kamel El Bouzidi raised all in for about 22,000 from the cutoff.

Delgado folded and El Bouzidi turned over KK for an overpair.

Both players checked the 10 river. Valduga showed Kx2x for a pair of kings. However, Paris flipped up A5 for a pair of aces to take down the pot.
