Ruggeri Sets Up Ho on the River

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Umberto Ruggeri and Maria Ho built a pot of around 20,000 as they went heads up to the turn with the board showing K963. Ruggeri then bet 14,000 from the big blind and Ho called in the hijack.

The river was the 9 and Ruggeri slid forward a tower of chips, enough to put Ho all in. Ho burned through multiple time banks and eventually called for around 50,000.

Ruggeri turned over 66 for a full house and Ho flashed the K as she made her exit.

Zhou Eliminated in Set Over Set

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action was picked up on the river with just 8,000 in the middle in a pot between Nichan Khorchidian from under the gun and Quan Zhou from the button.

On a completed board of 962K4, Khorchidian led for 4,300. Zhou responded with a large raise to 20,300, leaving himself 25,000 behind. Khorchidian then three-bet jammed to put Zhou at risk. Zhou went deep into the tank and used four time banks before he finally put in the call.

Quan Zhou: 44 All in
Nichan Khorchidian: 99

It was a cooler scenario in which Khorchidian held the higher set as Zhou hit the rail.

Pustina Dodges the River to Bust Ho

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Brian Kaufman led out for 2,000 on a flop of J82 from the small blind and Vlastimil Pustina then raised to 10,000 in the big blind. Poseidon Ho called in early position, while Kaufman got out of the way.

Pustina checked the 5 turn and Ho bet 10,000. Pustina then moved all in and Ho called for his last 30,000. Pustina had J5 for two pair, while Ho was on a flush draw holding K7.

The K river gave Ho a pair, but it wasn't enough to avoid handing over the rest of his chips to Pustina as he headed for the exit.

Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Antoine Labat opened to 2,000 from under the gun and was called by Sam Grafton in the hijack and Antoine Labat in the big blind.

The flop came Q45 and action checked around to Grafton who bet 1,500. Fata raised to 5,000, Labat called and Grafton moved all in, covering both players. Labat got out of the way while Fata, who had around 30,000 behind, made the call and was at risk.

Mario Fata: 54 All in
Sam Grafton: KQ

Fata was in great shape to double up with two pair against Grafton's top pair. That all changed when the rest of the board ran out 33 giving Grafton queens-up to take the pot while Fata made his exit from the tournament area.
