Mokri Bets Big on the River

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Kayhan Mokri raised to 2,500 in the hijack and Teun Mulder called on the button, as did big blind Nacho Barbero.

"Every time I raise, you're in there," Mokri said to Mulder as they saw the flop come 1093.

"I like to play," Mulder replied. All three players checked to the A turn where Mokri bet 6,000. Both opponents called.

The river was the 2 and Mokri bet another 45,000. Mulder quickly folded, but Barbero took his time before also folding as Mokri took down the pot.

Mikael Thuritz recently joined the field.

Mokri Flops the Joint on Davies

In another blind-on-blind confrontation, Seth Davies and Kayhan Mokri checked to the turn on a board of KKK9. Davies then bet 5,000 and Mokri called.

The river was the 8 and Davies bet another 15,000. Mokri then raised to 42,000 and Davies quickly called.

Mokri showed K4 for flopped quads and Davies mucked. "Kayhan Mokri, what a f**king animal. What a life," Nacho Barbero, who had only just joined the table, said.

Korzinin Bests Kaverman

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Vladimir Korzinin raised to 2,500 from the small blind and Byron Kaverman defended in the big blind.

The 7Q10 flop saw Korzinin check-call a bet of 6,000 from Kaverman.

The 4 turn checked through to the 7 river. Korzinin retook the lead for 7,000 and Kaverman made a swift fold.

Mulder Picks Off a Big Bluff From Winter

In a blind versus blind battle, Teun Mulder put in a raise of 30,000 before the flop and Sean Winter called.

The flop came 887 and Mulder bet 17,500. Winter called and both players then checked the 6 turn.

Winter led out for 30,000 on the Q river and Mulder snap-called. Winter could only show an ace and Mulder turned over JJ to win the big pot.

Santerne Raises the River in Limped Pot

In a limped pot between the blinds, Mike Watson led out for 1,000 on a flop of AJ10 and Thomas Santerne called.

Watson bet another 1,500 on the 6 turn and Santerne again called. The river was the 10 and Watson bet 2,500. Santerne then raised to 22,000 and Watson folded.

Greenwood Spikes the River

The action was caught as 7,500 had found it's way into the middle with two players looking at a flop of 795.

Both Kayhan Mokri, in the big blind, and Sam Greenwood, on the button, checked through to the K turn and 8 river.

Mokri bet out 5,000 and Greenwood snap-called. Mokri tabled J9 having flopped a pair of nines, however, Greenwood won this pot showing 88 for a rivered set.

Hartigan Talks Player Dynamics and "Holy Shit" Moments as The Big Game on Tour Returns

It's official. After its return in 2023 following a 12-year hiatus, PokerStars has confirmed that The Big Game on Tour is back again this year, with more episodes to be filmed at the NAPT Las Vegas festival.

Ten episodes of the show were filmed last year, with the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Maria Ho, Lex Veldhuis and Sam Grafton all taking part. The show features a lucky Loose Cannon who receives $50,000 and has to survive 150 hands playing $50/$100 with a table of poker pros, ambassadors, and celebrities.

PokerNews spoke with Big Game on Tour judge and commentator James Hartigan ahead of the show's return, and he says he's thrilled the show is back.

Santerne Secures a Huge Pot

Nick Petrangelo raised to 2,500 from the cutoff, Mike Watson called on the button and Thomas Santerne three-bet to 18,000 from the small blind. Vladimir Korzinin cold called from the big blind, Petrangelo folded and Watson called.

The K92 flop saw the action check to Watson, who took the lead for 12,000. Only Santerne called.

The 10 turn and 8 river checked to a showdown. Santerne tabled AK winning him this sizeable pot.

Mulder Gets Value on the River

Teun Mulder checked a flop of 643 from under the gun, then called when Sam Greenwood bet 2,500 from the cutoff.

Both players checked the J turn. Mulder then led out for 4,000 on the 2 river and Greenwood called. Mulder showed QJ for a pair of jacks and Greenwood mucked.

Greenwood Calls Down Mokri

Heads-up on a flop of 1062, Kayhan Mokri bet 6,500 from the cutoff and Sam Greenwood called in the big blind.

The turn was the K and Mokri bet another 23,500. Greenwood again called and checked to Mokri on the 7 river, and this time Mokri checked back. Greenwood showed K3 for a pair of kings and Mokri mucked.
