Pommier Doubles Through Sampirisi

Action folded to Alex Sampirisi who opened to 250,000 from the button. Christophe Pommier three-bet to 550,000 from the small blind and Sampirisi called.

The players saw the 6♣4♣6♥ flop and Pommier checked. Sampirisi moved all in and Pommier called.

Last year at in Barcelona, France's Simon Wiciak defeated João Sydenstricker heads-up to win the EPT Main Event for €1,134,375.

Wiciak bested the field of 2,120 runners for the golden trophy, his first major live poker title, and the career-best seven-figure score.

The Frenchman struck a three-handed deal with Sydenstricker and Britain's Carl Shaw that flattened the payouts, and the trio played on for the trophy and an additional €108,975 in prize money.

The flop came K♣Q♣5♥ and Steinmetz check-called a 350,000 bet from Kraous.

Steinmetz checked again on the 2♣ turn and Kraous moved all in, covering Steinmetz who had about 1,300,000 behind. Steinmetz opted to fold and Kraous took down a decent pot without showdown.

After checking the action on the other table, Shacar put his last chip into the pot and the players flipped their hands.

Shacar was looking to hold and he was ahead on the 8♠3♣5♥ flop.
