Grossi Picks Off Okamoto's Bluff

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a board of QJA3, Shiina Okamoto bet 5,500 from middle position. Toivo Rinne called on the button, as did Renato Grossi from the small blind.

After Grossi checked the 8 river, Okamoto fired another bet into her opponents, this time for 16,000. Rinnie folded, but Grossi went deep into the tank before he eventually put in the call.

Okamoto tabled J10 for just a pair of jacks, which was second best to the A7 of Grossi for top pair.

Simons and Baltazar Both Hit Quads, But Ace Kicker Wins

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Bobby Simons opened the action from the hijack with a raise to 2,500, receiving calls from Isabel Baltazar in the cutoff and Mounim Kaddouri in the big blind.

On the 777 flop, Kaddouri checked, and Simons bet 1,600. Baltazar called, while Kaddouri folded.

When the dealer revealed the final seven on the turn, both players checked.

Simons placed a small bet of 1,500 on the J river. Despite looking displeased, Baltazar called. Simons then revealed AK for quads with an ace kicker, leading Baltazar to muck her hand.

Djemai Put on the Clock

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

There were already 20,000 chips in the pot on a board of 4839 when Kamel Djemai checked, and Mads Borregaard bet 17,000. Djemai must have taken a long time with his decision as Ronit Chamani called the clock, which initiated a 30-second countdown. When the countdown hit 0, Djemai's hand was declared dead and the pot was pushed to Borregaard.

Despite that small setback, Djemai still has a very healthy stack of around 220,000.
