With around 450,000 in the middle, the board read 9♥4♣A♠J♠J♣ and Giovanni Giudice had bet 226,000. His opponent in the hand, Maciej Komorowski, shoved for 476,000. Giudice only had roughly 300,000 left in his stack and went deep into the tank. Eventually, he reluctantly put in the call.
Komorowski flipped over A♦J♥ for a rivered full house, jacks full of aces. Giudice turned over 9♣9♦ for an inferior full house, nines full of jacks. Komorowski had gone runner-runner boat to win the pot and leave Giudice with just 40,000, who he was eliminated in the next hand.
In a preflop confrontation Bart Lybaert was all-in from the cutoff for around 220,000 and up against Yiannis Liperis who covered him from the button.
Bart Lybaert: Q♣Q♥
Yiannis Liperis: 8♦8♥
Lybaert, who made the final table of this event last year, had the best hand preflop and remained ahead on the A♣4♦3♥7♦3♣ runout to score the double up through Liperis.
Saymon Dias opened from the hijack only for Kemal Aslan to three-bet to 65,000 from the cutoff. Dias responded with a four-bet to 145,000 and after about a minute to weigh his options Aslan clicked it back to 252,000. Dias opted to fold and Aslan took down a sizable pot without having to see a flop.
Bixi Yao had her stack of 150,000 in the middle with the second-best starting hand in all of No-Limit Hold'em, but ran into the one hand she didn't want to see.
Bixi Yao: K♠K♣
Andreas Moser: A♠A♣
"One time," uttered Yao.
Those magic words must have worked as Yao did improve to a set on the K♥7♥6♠ flop to take the lead. An ace is what Moser needed to find but he couldn't do it as the Q♠9♠ runout left him with around six big blinds.
On a flop of 10♣A♥2♣, Weiran Pu bet 80,000 from the blinds and Jose Barbosa called from middle position.
Upon seeing the 9♦ come on the turn, Pu quickly moved all in for Barbosa's remaining 350,000. Barbosa didn't take long to toss his cards into the muck, and Pu dragged in another pot.
Peter Kvisthammar raised to 25,000 from middle position and Andrea Melluzzo three-bet to 150,000 from the seat next to him with just 20,000 behind. Kvisthammar thought it over for a few moments before shoving with the covering stack. Melluzzo called.
Andrea Melluzzo: A♠K♠
Peter Kvisthammar: A♦10♠
Melluzzo was in great shape to double up with ace-king. However, the runout of 3♥9♣7♣9♥10♥ gave Kvisthammar the winner with a pair of tens on the river, sending Melluzzo to the cashier's desk.
