Morten Klein and Nick Petrangelo were in a preflop raising war that ended with Klein being all in for a bit under 300,000 on the button against Petrangelo, who had Klein covered in the big blind.

It was a race, but the K♦Q♣7♦3♦Q♥ runout improved Petrangelo to trip queens to claim his second elimination of the evening — vaulting him into the chip lead.

Ladev Hits The Rail

Markkos Ladev opened to 6,000 from middle position before Jules Dickerson min-clicked to 9,000 from the hijack, and Ladev called.

On the 10♥6♣4♣ flop, Dickerson continued for 8,000 before Ladev check-jammed for 45,000 and Dickerson snapped it off.

Ladev again had a combo draw against the flopped top pair of Dickerson. The 9♥ turn brought an additional sweat but it came to no avail on the Q♥ river as Ladev hit the rail.

Nick Petrangelo opened to 4,500 from under the gun before Markkos Ladev put in a three-bet next to act. When the action got to Vladimir Korzinin on the button, he cold four-bet to 30,000. Petrangelo contemplated his decision for a while before he opted to fold. Ladev jammed and Korzinin called off for 112,000 for his tournament life.

It was the most classic of flips with Korzinin having the slight advantage. It stayed that way on the 6♠4♠2♦ flop. However, the A♥ fell on the turn which vaulted Ladev into the lead. The A♦ on the river was salt in the wound for Korzinin, who wished his opponents good luck as he exited the tournament.

Jesse Lonis opened the hijack to 4,500 and Jules Dickerson called on the button. In the small blind, Mikael Thuritz three-bet to 20,000. Then, Leonard Maue shoved from the big blind for 81,000. The action folded back to Thuritz who put in the call.

Maue was in great shape to score a double up and it stayed that way on the 10♣9♦3♣ flop to the 5♠ turn. However, the dealer had other plans when the Q♥ fell on the river in dramatic fashion as Thuritz made top set to eliminate Maue.

Lonis Takes it All from Thorel

Jesse Lonis opened the button before Jean-Noel Thorel three-bet to 10,000 from the small blind, and Lonis made the call.

The K♥9♥7♦ flop saw Thorel continue for 15,000. Lonis opted to raise to 48,000 in position and Thorel quickly put in the call.

The Q♣ peeled off on the turn. Lonis continued the pressure as he sized up to 103,000 and Thorel quickly called again.

The river was the 10♣ and Thorel opted to lead jam for around 95,000 and Lonis snapped it off.
