The PokerStars European Poker Tour Cyprus at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa continued today with the final high-stakes event on the roster; the $10,200 No Limit Hold'em.

A total of 64 entrants tried their luck on the felt, but after ten swift levels in this fast-paced structure, just 34 progressed to Day 2. With registration still open until the start of play tomorrow, more sharks are expected to surface for their last chance to claim a trophy this series.

As the dust settled, Farid Jattin claimed the overall chip lead after accumulating a stack of 477,000. Jattin is tailed by none other than Adrian Mateos whose stack of 425,000 has once again earned him a top stop amongst the best and brightest in the game.

Vaskaboinikau is already having an unbelievable run here in Northern Cyprus, having taken down the $50,000 Super High Roller for $601,397 and will be sure to have his eyes firmly set on claiming his second EPT title this week.

Rebuy Madness

Today’s fast-paced flight was no short of action, seeing a total of 14 re-entries. Both Hassan Nashar and Vladimir Korzinin proved to be two of the most active players on the felt, firing four bullets each.

Nasher and Korzinin weren’t ones to hide their gambling spirits, each tangling in sizable pots with often inferior holdings. Nasher sat down with a fresh starting stack and quickly got in the mix in an all-in confrontation; his king-six off-suit against the dominating king-jack suited of Felipe Fontoura Ketzer saw the five-card runout improve him to a flush, earning an instant double up.

However, the poker gods didn’t seem to reward Korzinin with the same fortune. Korzinin battled it out with Ren Lin in one of the largest pots of the day as the two flipped for a monster pot on the last level of play. Korzinin had the best of it preflop, but Lin flopped the nut straight to send his opponent to the payout cage once again.

The fourth time was clearly the charm for both Nasher and Korzinin, who finally bagged stacks of 249,000 and 90,000 respectively.

Play will recommence on Sunday, October 20th, at noon local time. The restart will be on Level 11 with blinds at 2,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. The remaining players will battle it out until just one remains with scheduled breaks, including a dinner break, left to the discretion of the floor as the day progresses.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be back tomorrow to bring you more coverage of the $10,200 No Limit Hold'em event here at EPT Cyprus, so stay tuned.

Vladimir Korzinin had just reentered the tournament for the third time and only just sat down at his new table. In the first hand of the bullet, he was all in preflop against Aren Bezhanyan and was at risk as the cards were turned.

Vladimir Korzinin: AK All in
Aren Bezhanyan: 88

"Action player!" said a neutral player.

The board ran out 595710 and Bezhanyan held with his pocket eights, making two pair with the fives on board. Korzinin was once again eliminated, but has since fired again for his fourth bullet.

Martirosian Finds a Favorable Run Out

Level 10 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The action was caught as Artur Martirosian, in the hijack, was all in and at risk for his effective stack of 74,000 against Felipe Fontoura Ketzer, in the small blind. The board had already been dealt 6J978 and both players already had their cards on their backs.

Artur Martirosian: A10 All in
Felipe Fontoura Ketzer: AJ

Martirosian's inferior holding preflop had managed to river a straight to improve against the top pair of Ketzer, doubling him up.

Maltez Shows the Goods

Level 10 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The pot stood at 20,000 with both the blinds navigating a board of 7279.

Ren Lin, in the small blind, bet out 10,000. Fabrice Maltez, in the big blind, raised to 30,000. Lin called.

Lin played in flow on the 10 river. Maltez moved all in for 52,000 and Lin went deep into the tank, eventually making the fold.

As Maltez raked in the pot, he allowed Lin to table one of his cards, exposing the 7 for at least trips.

Lin and Korzinin in Mood for Gamble

Level 10 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Ren Lin and Vladimir Korzinin were in the mood for gambling. Before the hand, they were flipping Lin's credit card for money. Then the hand started and the gambling continued.

Lin raised from under the gun, Korzinin three-bet to 28,000 from a couple of seats across, then Lin moved all in. Korzinin called for around 165,000 and was slightly covered as players turned their cards.

Vladimir Korzinin: 88 All in
Ren Lin: 109

Lin flipped his hand first and the table erupted. Korzinin then said that he had "lower cards" before revealing his hand to show that the two of them were still flipping.

"What the fuck is this?!" said a neutral player.

The board ran out 87JK5 and again the table burst into laughter mixed with disbelief. Korzinin had flopped a set of eights, but Lin had flopped a straight.

Lin held to win the pot and Korzinin was eliminated, although he again stated his intentions to rejoin the tournament, hoping to get back on the same table so he could continue the fun with Lin.
