Juan Baraza opened to 16,000 from early position and Aleksei Savenkov defended in the big blind.
On the Q♠5♣2♣ flop, Savenkov check-called versus a bet of 13,000 from Baraza.
The 8♠ turn followed the same pattern, this time in respect of a bet of 35,000 from Baraza.
The A♦ river was then checked through. Savenkov tabled Q♣9♥ for second pair queens, but Baraza had A♣K♥, sending him the pot with the rivered pair of aces.
In the last hand before the dinner break, and with the bubble approaching, the pot had already swollen to around 230,000 in a hand between Roberto Romanello and Yunsheng Sun, with the completed board reading Q♠10♠2♣K♣8♠.
Romanello jammed with the covering stack, and Sun snap-called for his remaining 200,000.
Romanello tabled A♠10♥ for a pair of tens, but Sun had A♥J♣ for the turned nut straight.
