Gutierrez Makes the Right Check-Back Against Song

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Elias Gutierrez
Elias Gutierrez

In a pot that had around 30,000 in the middle on a flop of 838, action was picked up with Stephen Song checking from under the gun and Elias Gutierrez firing a bet of 15,000 on the button. Song called.

A Q dropped on the turn and after Song checked, Gutierrez bet 30,000. Song took his time, but eventually called.

The 5 completed the board on the river and Song checked for a third time. Gutierrez used some extra time before he knuckled back.

Song showed AQ for a pair of queens, and Gutierrez mucked.

"I wasn't folding," said Song.

"It would have been on camera too, I would have snap-called," he added in reference to the TV crew recording the action.

Astedt Smokes Smolka

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Mustafa Biz opened to 5,500 from middle position, and was faced with a three-bet to 16,000 from Niklas Astedt on the button. Dawid Smolka was in the small blind, and he produced a cold four-bet jam to 130,000.

Biz quickly got out of the way and Astedt made the quick call with the covering stack.

Dawid Smolka: 1010 All in
Niklas Astedt: KK

Smolka was in trouble versus Astedt's pocket kings, and no unlikely escape was provided by the J9457 runout.

Quads Send Li to the Rail

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Zhendong Li
Zhendong Li

When it folded to Zhendong Li on the button, he shoved for roughly 40,000. Santiago Nadal looked at his cards in the big blind and snap-called with slightly more chips than Li.

Zhendong Li: K9 All in
Santiago Nadal: QQ

Li had ran into Nadal's ladies and needed to find a king. However, the flop of Q25 gave Nadal a set and left Li needed runner-runner. The 10 offered him one of the cards he needed, but the Q on the river gave Nadal quads, and Li was out.

Ilani Gets Cold Four-Bet Jam Through

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs opened to 5,500 from early position, and action folded to Danilo Velasevic in the small blind, who reached for chips and produced a three-bet to 25,000.

Ran Ilani was in the big blind, and he peeked at his cards before producing a cold four-bet jam for 77,000.

Ponakovs quickly folded, and despite it not being that much more for Velasevic to call, he ultimately decided to send his cards into the muck after a reasonable period of thought.

Simeon Spasov checked the A410K turn from the big blind to Dmitrii Kravchenko in the cutoff. Kravchenko made a bet of 12,500 and Spasov called.

Kravchenko then jammed all in for 22,500 on the 3 river after another check from Spasov.

Spasov snap-called. Kravchenko tabled AK for two pair but it was no match for the QJ of Spasov, who eliminated his opponent with a straight.

Furuse Wins the Flip

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Kazuomi Furuse
Kazuomi Furuse

David Cabrera opened to 5,000 in the hijack and Niklas Astedt called in the cutoff before Kazuomi Furuse shoved for 61,000 from the big blind. Cabrera took a peek at the stack of Astedt to his left, then announced a call. Astedt folded.

Kazuomi Furuse: AK All in
David Cabrera: 1010

It was a fair flip that looked to be going Furuse's way after he paired his ace on the 5JA flop. A 7 on the turn did bring around some chop possibilities, but the A river improved Furuse to trips, which earned him a double-up.
