In a blind versus blind battle, Mykhailo Sezonenko bet 4,000 on a board of 9♦K♦10♥6♥ and Maria Konnikova called.
The river was the 2♦ and Sezonenko led out for 10,000. Konnikova then moved all in for 22,600.
Sezonenko tanked for more than a minute before calling. Konnikova turned over A♦Q♠ and Sezonenko showed Q♦J♦ for a rivered flush to send the Team PokerStars Pro to the rail early on Day 1a.
On Table 7, Raymond Gelebiowski made it 400 from the button and was called by Gregory Raffalli from the small blind. Nicholas Le Hech three-bet to 1,400 from the big blind, and both opponents called.
Le Hech continued for 1,300 on the Q♥7♦6♣ flop, which folded out Gelebiowski and Raffalli.
At the same time on Table 4, Antonio Pereira limped in from middle position before Shahram Rastegari raised to 1,200 from the hijack. Marc Chahmirian called from the big blind and Periera followed suit.
On the Q♥7♣2♠ flop, Rastegari fired out 1,100, and only Periera called. On the 4♠ turn, Periera check-folded to a bet of 4,000.

A pot of around 20,000 was already in the middle as Jan Teunis and Antoine Labat saw the turn on a board of 3♣J♥Q♠4♣. Labat then bet 6,500 from the button and Teunis called under the gun.
The river was the 10♦ and Teunis moved all in for 9,000. Labat called and Teunis showed K♠4♠ for a pair of fours. Labat turned over J♦J♣ for a set of jacks and sent Teunis to the rail as the first elimination of the tournament.
Around 10,000 was already in the pot as Vasile Penteliuc and Jean Vigna went to the river on a board of J♥10♥K♦10♦7♠.
Penteliuc then bet 10,000 from the button and Vigna called in middle position. Penteliuc showed K♥K♠ for a full house and Vigna mucked A♦Q♦ for a flopped straight.
Fulvio Ferrero led out for 1,100 from the small blind on a flop of Q♠2♦4♣ and Harrie Snijders called in the hijack.
The turn was the 5♥ and Ferrero bet another 2,600. Snijders again called.
Ferrero slowed down and checked the A♠ river as Snijders fired out 7,100. Ferrero took his time before turning over the A♣ and tossing it into the muck as Snijders took the pot without a showdown.
