Three-handed on a flop of K♣7♠6♥, Leo Gierhake bet 1,800 from the cutoff and Miha Travnik called in the big blind, as did Atanas Malinov in the hijack.
All three players checked the 5♦ turn and action checked to Gierhake on the 5♥ river. He then bet 12,000.
Travnik quickly folded, but Malinov considered the decision for 30 seconds before calling. Gierhake showed K♠Q♣ for two pair and Malinov folded.
Jorge Rios opened to 900 from the cutoff and called when Tobias Peters three-bet to 3,000 from the small blind. Rios check-called for 2,800 on the 9♦7♣3♦ flop. Peters' aggression continued on the 5♠ turn, with the Dutchman sizing up to 6,700, which folded out his opponent.
After that hand finished, a pot was brewing on a nearby table with four players involved.
Fabrice Bourcier De Carbon limped in from middle position before Kacper Swiderski clicked it to 800 from the cutoff. Fabrice Bigot folded on the button and then Stephane Trela three-bet to 1,600 from the small blind. Liviu Bartha called in the big blind, with De Carbon and Swiderski also matching the bet.
The 7♥6♦3♦ flop checked through to the 7♦ turn. Bartha fired out 3,400 and took down the pot uncontested.
Nina Krasilnikova and Mathias Bayer went heads-up to the river on a board of J♣J♠10♠Q♠5♥ and around 30,000 in the pot when Bayer moved all in for 20,000 in the cutoff.
Krasilnikova called in middle position and Bayer showed Q♦Q♥ for a full house.
Krasilnikova mucked an ace-high flush to drop down to an extreme short stack. "The same thing happened at another table. It was quads," she explained as she lost another big pot.
"So unlucky. That's ridiculous," tablemate Ramsey Lababidi said.
"I would not fold," Fintan Hand, also seated at this table, added.
Fabrice Bigot and Kacper Swiderski built a pot of around 9,000 as they went heads-up to the 5♦7♣Q♦ flop.
Both players checked and the J♥ fell on the turn. Swiderski then bet 5,300 from middle position and Bigot called in the hijack.
The river was the 5♥ and Swiderski bet 9,500. Bigot snap-called and Swiderski went to muck his hand before turning over A♦4♥. Bigot showed K♥Q♥ for two pair as he took the pot.
Woody Christy was the first to act and raised to 1,000. Valerie Lelouche, seated next to him, immediately called. The action folded to Oliver Huber, who also called from the big blind.
On the 8♥J♣9♣ flop, Huber checked and Christy made a continuation bet of 1,200, which both players called.
Christy fired out another 4,500 on the K♥ turn. Lelouche folded and Huber called once more.
The 8♣ river prompted Huber to check-call Christy's bet of 5,500.
Christy showed 8♦8♠, which was good for quads and Huber's cards went into the muck.
Philippe Magnus moved all in for 12,000 on the button and Stephane Narboni called in the small blind.
Philippe Magnus: 6♠6♣
Stephane Narboni: K♦Q♦
The flop came 5♠10♥K♠ and Narboni took the lead with a pair of kings. The rest of the board came 8♣4♣ and Magnus was sent to the rail.
Davor Bojovic opened to 1,000 from under the gun and called when Nicolas Le Hech three-bet to 2,500 on his direct left.
Bojovic check-called for 2,500 on the J♠5♠3♣ flop, leaving himself around 13,000 behind.
Bojovic checked once more when the dealer brought in the 4♣ turn. Le Hech jammed as the bigger stack and Bojovic called for his tournament life.
Davor Bojovic: 10♥10♠
Nicolas Le Hech: A♦7♥
Bojovic was the favorite, but Le Hech was still live with his overcard and double-gutshot straight draw.
The 2♥ completed the board and gave Le Hech the straight to see off his opponent.
"What the f***?" whispered a table mate.
"Very lucky," added Le Hech.
"You can see into the future," laughed another player.
