Castriotta Cut from the Field

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Deborah Nizard opened to 5,000 from early position and was called by Vincent Ployet from the button. Angelo Castriotta squeezed to 19,500 from the big blind and both players called.

Vincent Ployet: Q10 All in
Angelo Castriotta: AQ

Castriotta had the best hand but Ployet was very alive with his straight and flush draw.

The 9 was a brick but the K river gave Ployet Broadway to leave Castriotta on crumbs.

Two hands later, Ployet opened to 5,500 and Castriotta put in the last of his chips. Uri Gilboa and Nizard called from the blinds. Ployet also continued to give action.

Action checked through to showdown for the final board to read 7626K.

Gilboa tabled K8 which bested Nizard and Ployet's Ax4x and AxQx. Castriotta flashed AxJx before leaving the table.
