Maria Konnikova opened to 500 from under the gun and Yiannakis Papapetrou defended his big blind.
Papapetrou check-called for 900 on the A♦Q♥3♦ flop before the 9♥ turn checked through to the 6♦ river. Papapetrou led out for 2,000 and Konnikova quickly folded.
Papapetrou showed his opponent he had the nuts with K♦4♦.
"That didn't look like a good river for me," laughed Konnikova as the pot was pushed to her tablemate.
Ladislao Dalfo raised to 800 under the gun and Ludovic Zocchetti called on the button. Imre Karpati then three-bet to 4,000 in the small blind, Dalfo moved all in for around 15,000, Zocchetti folded, while Karpati called.

Karpati had picked up aces to leave Dalfo at serious risk of elimination. The board ran out 4♦Q♥8♠6♥3♥ and Dalfo headed to the rail.
"Ace-queen," Zocchetti said after the hand.
With around 4,500 in the pot, Thierry Giron bet 2,500 from under the gun on a board of K♥8♠A♦4♥ before Andreas Vlachos raised to 6,700 in middle position.
Giron called and the 5♦ fell on the river. Vlachos then bet 9,800 and Giron quickly called.
Vlachos turned over 8♥8♦ for a flopped set of eights and Giron mucked.

Quentin Laugt raised from middle position before Xavier Gour three-bet to 1,000 from the hijack. Laugt made it 3,000 and was called.
The 8♥7♦5♣ flop checked through to the K♠ turn and fireworks began to ignite. Laugt checked and Gour bet 2,500. Laugt clicked it to 5,000 and Gour did the same to 10,000. Laugt jammed for 18,000 and was snap-called.

Gour's flop set had been outdrawn, and he failed to find the last on the river, and Laugt took in the pot.
Three-handed on a flop of 9♦2♣Q♣, Denis Malyshev bet 1,600 from the hijack and Yani Benitez called on the button, as did Georgios Ioannou under the gun.
The turn was the 5♥ and Ioannou led out for 2,200. Both Malyshev and Benitez called to see the J♠ river.
All three players then checked and Ioannou showed Q♥10♠ for top pair as both opponents mucked.
With around 8,000 in the pot on a board of 9♠6♥8♠A♠, Emmanouil Zografakis bet 6,500 from under the gun and Gerald Soldermann called in middle position.
The river was the 6♠ and Zografakis moved all in for around another 6,500. Soldermann snap-called.
Zografakis showed J♥10♠ for a missed straight draw, while Soldermann had A♣9♣ for two pair to win the pot and send Zografakis to the rail.
Three players built a pot of around 6,000 as they went to the turn on a board of 10♠3♦J♦7♠. Puddu Cardia then bet 3,800 from middle position and Youcef Benzerfa called in the hijack, while Nuri Hadioglu folded in the big blind.
The river was the J♣ and Cardia bet 16,000. Benzerfa tanked for around a minute before folding.
Cardia then allowed Benzerfa to choose one of his cards, and Benzerfa picked the 5♦.
Paul Cyril Richard raised from under the gun to 800 and got called by Stefano Vieta from the cutoff and the blinds Marc Abecassis and Guillaume Alfieri.
The 10♦7♥9♠ led to a check-check from the blinds, and Richard bet 1,000, getting called by all players.
Abecassis checked the 5♠ turn, and Alfieri went all-in for 11,500. Richard called, and Vieta pushed all-in with also 11,500 left. Abecassis's cards found the muck.

No help for Alfieri and Vieta with the 5♣ river, and Richard eliminated two players.
Jean Ploch and Renato Hysenbelli built a pot of around 12,000 as they went heads-up to a 5♦9♥2♦ flop.
Ploch then bet 7,200 from the hijack and Hysenbelli called int he big blind. Both players checked the A♠ turn.
The river was the J♦ and action was again checked through. Hysenbelli turned over K♠K♦ and Ploch sent two queens into the muck as Hysenbelli took the pot that potentially could've been much bigger.
