Day 1 of €3,000 EPT Mystery Bounty Gets Underway at 2 PM

The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Monte Carlo here at the Sporting Monte-Carlo continues today with the €3,000 Mystery Bounty. Day 1 of this three-day event kicks off this afternoon at 2 p.m. local time.

In 2023, it was Jeremie Zouari who emerged victorious after besting a field of 678 players. Zouari lay claim to the lion's share of the €1,163,448 prize pool, taking home €194,310 for the first-place prize.

This is the second Mystery Bounty tournament to take place at EPT Monte Carlo, with Antoine Labat taking down the €10,200 Mystery Bounty last week. Labat triumphed over Felipe Boianovsky in heads-up play to claim the €116,800 up top and €40,000 in additional bounties.

Late registration will be open until the beginning of Day 2, which kicks off on Wednesday, May 1, at 12:30 p.m. On Level 15 of Day 2, the Mystery Bounties will come into play. Of the total entry fee, €1,000 will be put into the bounty prize pool which will generate bounties that will be confirmed once the prize pool is finalized.

Anyone who enters the Mystery Bounty will receive a starting stack of 30,000. The plan for Day 1 is to play twelve 40-minute levels and while the registration period is open, players are allowed unlimited reentries.

Frere check-called a bet of 800 from Bartoletti on the 710K flop.

The K turn and 7 river checked to a showdown. Frere tabled Q6 for a flopped flush. Bartoletti mucked 88 face up.

The pot had already swelled to approximately 23,000 with two players looking at a full board of K47Q3.

Lukas Hafner, in the hijack, checked the action to Demin Shen, on the button. Shen moved all in, putting Hafner to the test for his effective stack of 22,800.

Pained by his decision, Hafner tanked for some time before finally flicking in the call. Shen tabled 97 for a pair of sevens, while Hafner raked in this pot with KJ.

A neutral player at the table announced that he thought Shen had a set.

The 4 turn saw a repeat of the action, this time Teltscher sized up to 5,000.

The 2 river prompted Lai to play out of flow, leading for 8,500. Teltscher thought on his decision before moving all in for 17,700. Lai made a quick call.

The A river saw the action check to Valiyev, who bet out 2,400. Claude called and Lategui mucked. Valiyev tabled A9 for a rivered top pair, but Claude claimed this pot with J10 for two pair.

The 10 river checked to a showdown. Santerne tabled 44, which was good enough to see Meiri's cards into the muck.

Dwan Takes a Nice Pot

Sudimak checked the monotone 3106 flop to Dwan who bet 2,000. Abilil called and Sudimak folded. Dwan check-called a 5,500 bet from Abilil on the 9 turn before leading for 2,500 on the 10 river. Abilil then reraised to 16,000 and Dwan snap-called.

He showed 66 for a flopped set and Abilil showed AQ for a ace-high bluff.
