Lupascu Straightens Out Gabsi in Huge Pot

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

At least 280,000 was in the middle in a hand between Slim Gabsi and Matei Lupascu, with the board reading 74A75.

Lupascu checked to Gabsi, who moved all in for 200,000.

Lupascu went deep into the tank, taking at least five minutes, peering at the board and counting his chips. Eventually a table mate called the clock.

When it got down to 15 seconds, Lupascu suddenly made the call.

Gabsi, who had almost been in a trance during the time Lupascu was taking to make his decision, looked shocked and had to check Lupascu had indeed said call.

Gabsi turned over A5 for a pair of aces, while Lupascu had 107 for a set of sevens, sending him a huge pot.

Dwan Takes Pot on River

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Jamie Dwan opened to 16,000 and was called by Giuseppe Zarbo, who had been causing his table mates quite a bit of angst in the last 30 minutes by, in their view, indulging in persistent tanking close to the bubble, with the clock being called on him on a number of occasions.

On the 273 flop Dwan continued with a bet of 8,000, and Zarbo, after some thought, raised to 32,000. Dwan called.

The A turn was checked through by both players.

On the 2 turn Dwan fired out a bet of 36,000 and Zarbo eventually folded.
