2023 EPT Paris Main Event Champ Belea Loses a Big Flip

Last year's EPT Paris Main Event champion Razvan Belea had started building a stack throughout the early goings of Day 1e, with around 90,000 in front of him. He opened to 1,700 from early position. Pablo Almeida called from the button before Stefan Dimitrov three-bet to 8,200 from the small blind. Belea, who had both players covered, moved all in which folded out Almeida. Dimitrov had 68,400 and called after a few moments of thinking.

Belea was behind his opponent's pair and failed to connect on the 7♠6♦6♠ flop and Dimitrov jumped to the upper echelons of the chip leaderboard after holding out on the 2♦ turn and 7♦ river.

The flop came A♥9♠6♣. Action checked to Crouzet, who bet 2,600. Bouveret and Sahin called. The turn was the 9♥ and all three players checked.

The river came the 10♥. Crouzet and Bouveret checked, then Sahin moved all in for his remaining 6,300 chips. Crouzet folded and Bouveret made the call.

Bouveret showed A♣J♣ for a pair of aces and Sahin had J♥9♣ for trip nines to win the pot.
