Rivered Set Can't Save Shimizu

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Nozomu Shimizu was all in for his last 15,000 from the button and up against Allan Ribeiro under the gun.

Nozomu Shimizu: 88
Allan Ribeiro: 1010

Shimizu was dominated and fell even further behind on the 1054 flop as Ribeiro made a set of tens. The 3 turn left him drawing dead, only for the 8 to fall on the river.

"That's the f**k you card," a tablemate joked as Shimizu headed for the rail.

Maher Achour opened in middle position before Sven Stok moved his larger stack all in from the hijack. Action folded back around to Achour, who made the call and was at risk.

Maher Achour: JJ
Sven Stok: KK

Achour was in rough shape and could not catch up on the 26A10A runout, as Stok's kings held to take down a nice pot.

Demri Denied a Knockout; Wyrzykiewicz Shoves on Margets

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jeremie Demri
Jeremie Demri

Jeremie Demri raised to 2,600 in early position, then called when Andreas Kaddour shoved for 16,500 in the hijack.

Andreas Kaddour: KJ
Jeremie Demri: AJ

Demri had Kaddour dominated, but Kaddour picked up a flush draw on the QQ7 flop and completed it on the 8 turn. The river was the 3 and he doubled up off the former chip leader.

At the same time on another table, Leo Margets bet 5,000 from middle position on a flop of 784 and Remigiusz Wyrzykiewicz raised to 12,000 in early position.

Margets called and the 5 fell on the turn. Wyrzykiewicz then put Margets all in and she snap-folded for her last 25,000.

Eduardo Lopes

Eduardo Lopes was all-in for around 15,000 and at risk versus Joakim Andersson.

Eduardo Lopes: AK
Joakim Andersson: AA

Lopes had been extremely unfortunate to run his ace-king into Andersson's aces, and no unlikely escape was forthcoming for Lopes on the 7J6107 runout.

Jahn Calls His Own Counterfeit Card

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Soenke Jahn
Soenke Jahn

Soenke Jahn's open from the cutoff was called by Mohamed Kerkeni in the small blind. Sho Homma then moved all in from the big blind and Jahn also moved his stack into the middle. Kerkeni called and the hands were turned up.

Sho Homma: AK
Mohamed Kerkeni: AJ
Soenke Jahn: KK

Jahn was looking to dodge an ace and stayed ahead on the monotone 567 flop. Holding the only diamond, Jahn then improved to a flush on the 3 turn, but an unlikely chop was still in play.

"Four of diamonds" said Jahn, calling for a card that would chop the pot. The dealer complied by turning over the 4, leaving a straight flush on the board.

The table reacted in amazement, as all three players improbably collected their share of the pot.

As Dato raked in the pot, Beresford told his opponent "I had a king and a heart."

Hartmann Stuns Diaz on the Turn, Gradinaru Gets Away Cheap

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Three-handed on a flop of 8106, Gheorghe Gradinaru bet 4,500 from middle position before Gilbert Diaz moved all in for 24,600 on the button. Pascal Hartmann called in early position, sending Gradinaru into the tank. He considered the decision for a minute before open-folding J10.

Gilbert Diaz: 86
Pascal Hartmann: QQ

Diaz was ahead with his two pair but the Q spiked on the turn to give Hartmann a set. Diaz slammed the table in frustration as he was drawing dead heading to the 10 river.
