Bigot Goes Into Tank

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Fabrice Bigot
Fabrice Bigot

Kyriakos Papadopoulos had raised under the gun and Fabrice Bigot had called from the small blind. On a 24A flop, Bigot checked to Papadopoulos, who put in a continuation-bet of 1,100 chips.

Bigot then raised to 4,000 and Papadopoulos made the call. Both players went on to check the 10 turn before Bigot bet 8,000 on the 9 river, around half of Papadopoulos' stack.

Papadopoulos then shoved the rest in the middle, which caused Bigot to think the situation over for a few minutes. Eventually, the clock was called on him, and under the pressure of time, he slammed in a call.

Papadopoulos showed 77 for a pair of sevens, no match for the AJ of Bigot. Bigot celebrated his correct call and raked in the chips, while Papadopoulos headed to the exit.

Rodin Building a Stack After Three KO's

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Grigorii Rodin
Grigorii Rodin

Grigorii Rodin, who finished in sixth place in the 2023 EPT Prague Main Event, is building a stack that puts him in the top ten chip counts. He explained to PokerNews that he had eliminated Klemens Roiter and Jorge Ufano following a three-way all-in.

He recalled that Roiter opened to 1,700 from under the gun off of a stack of 31,800. Rodin called with pocket tens before Ufano moved all in for around 10,000 from the big blind. Roiter rejammed and Rodin called as the bigger stack.

Rodin was up against 8x8x and AxJx and his pocket tens remained best on the runout.

He then soon made it a hattrick of KOs. Rodin raised from under the gun and called Paraskevas Tsokaridis moved all in for 7,400 from the big blind.

Paraskevas Tsokaridis: AJ
Grigorii Rodin: 8x8x

Rodin's eights were never troubled and held out to take in the pot after the board ran out with the 95458.

Metaal Wins Huge Pot to Bust Ribouchon

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Govert Metaal
Govert Metaal

Govert Metaal and Florian Ribouchon played in a pot that amounted to 29,000 by the time the river had arrived. With the board reading Q22KA, Metaal sat in the small blind and decided to put Ribouchon all in for his final 31,100 chips.

Ribouchon thought it over on the button for a good while, but eventually flicked in a chip or two to signify a call. Metaal showed AK for top two pair, which bested the AxQx that Ribouchon quickly flashed before tossing them into the muck.

Ribouchon took his leave while Metaal chipped up to be among the leaders going in to the dinner break.

Thorel Busts First Bullet

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Clement Kerrien opened to 1,200 from the hijack before Jean-Noel Thorel made it 3,000 to go from the button. Vladimir Lipnitskii then put in a four-bet to 8,000 from the big blind and only Thorel called.

Lipnitskii continued for 3,000 on the 79K flop, which Thorel called. The 7 turn saw Lipnitskii slow down with a check, after which Thorel instantly moved all in for 15,600. Lipnitskii took a bit of time but eventually made the call to put France's all-time money leader at risk.

Jean-Noel Thorel: J9
Vladimir Lipnitskii: JJ

Lipnitskii had Thorel's pair dominated, and the 5 river did nothing to change that. Thorel took his leave while Lipnitskii stacked his newly acquired chips.

Wheeler Cannot Get Simsek to Fold

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Jason Wheeler
Jason Wheeler

What started as a limped pot then brought the squeeze of Jason Wheeler in the big blind, and he was only called by Mustafa Simsek. Wheeler then bet all the way on the 954 flop for 2,600, 7,000 on the K turn as well as 20,000 on the 8 river with 100 chips behind.

Simsek called the first two bets and then went deep into the tank on the river before coming along with the marginally bigger stack. Wheeler showed his A10 for a bluff and Simsek won the pot with the 77, leaping out of his seat to brief a sigh of relief.

Wheeler was forced all-in the next hand and busted, wished everyone good luck and bumped fists with Simsek before heading out.

Redjdal Flops a Full House and Doubles

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

A large pot was brewing over on Table 46 as around 49,000 was in the middle to the KK578 river. Alexis Andre had checked out of the big blind and Romeric Redjdal then moved all in and Andre called after a few seconds of consideration.

Redjdal tabled his K5 for a flopped full house and Andre briefly exposed his AA for aces and kings. Both stacks were counted and Redjdal doubled for 26,400, leaving his opponent with one big blind only. Soon after, the seat of Andre was empty.

Nazar Buhaiov
Nazar Buhaiov

Ioannis Oikonomidis raised to 1,200 and Nazar Buhaiov then three-bet to 3,600 from one seat over in the hijack. Erkan Soenmez called on the button only for Oikonomidis to make it 10,600 to go. Buhaiov then pushed all in to force out Soenmez, while Oikonomidis called for around 39,000.

Ioannis Oikonomidis: QQ
Nazar Buhaiov: KK

Buhaiov had the best of it and improved to a set on the K102 flop. The A turn gave Oikonomidis a life line with a gutshot but the 4 river was a blank.

Timo Kamphues
Timo Kamphues

Timo Kamphues and Laszlo Molnar were battling over a 34,500-chip pot when they both checked on the 99410 turn. Kamphues then checked again on the J river, after which Molnar decided to go for it all.

He put his stack of 24,100 chips in the middle and Kamphues asked for a count. Shortly after he heard the correct number, he stuck in a call.

Molnar showed A7 for the nut flush, beating the J10 of Kamphues, who played two pair. He was left with just three big blinds, which he would lose as well shortly after the hand.
