Xanthopoulos Sends Reixach Packing

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Sergi Reixach
Sergi Reixach

With plenty of chips in the middle to the Q106610, Sergi Reixach pushed all in and Pavlos Xanthopoulos instantly called. Reixach tabled the AQ but it was no good, as Xanthopoulos had turned trips and rivered a full house with the A6.

"Flop was check, check, and he check-raised the turn. No wait, I can't remember," Ian Bradley mentioned and then asked Xanthopoulos, who replied "no, he bet the flop."

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Govert Metaal

Alex Keating raised to 1,600 as first to act and Roberto Romanello flat-called from the cutoff. Govert Metaal then made it 7,000 to go on the button, after which Hugo Machado jammed all in for 20,700.

Keating and Romanello quickly got out of the way, but Metaal tanked for a bit before putting in the call.

Hugo Machado: AK
Govert Metaal: Q9

Metaal was three-betting light but had two live cards to hit. However, the A66 flop spelled disaster for him, and the 8 turn locked up the pot for Machado. The 10 river appeared as a formality and the pot was shipped to Machado.

In a battle of the blinds, Thomas Boivin check-raised the K43 flop to 6,000 and Fintan Hand stuck around.

Boivin checked the K on the turn for Hand to bet 4,000 and the Belgian called. Both then checked the 2 on the river and Boivin won the pot with the 43.

"Not a great turn," another player at the table remarked.

A Four and Five-Bet Jam

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Stephane Guelpa opened to 1,600 from early position before Francky Magliocco three-bet to 9,500 from the cutoff. Antoine Rahal then moved all in for 17,900 from the button, which prompted Tobias Duthweiler to five-bet jam for around 65,000 from the small blind.

Guelpa folded while Magliocco argued that the small blind could only call. He was mistaken after the dealer explained, which was backed up by the tournament director. Magliocco folded and the cards went on their backs.

Antoine Rahal: 44
Tobias Duthweiler: A3

There were some eyebrows raised at what cards were tabled, but Rahal didn't mind as he breathed life into his stack after remaining best following the 6105QQ runout.

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Fabrice Bigot
Fabrice Bigot

Kyriakos Papadopoulos had raised under the gun and Fabrice Bigot had called from the small blind. On a 24A flop, Bigot checked to Papadopoulos, who put in a continuation-bet of 1,100 chips.

Bigot then raised to 4,000 and Papadopoulos made the call. Both players went on to check the 10 turn before Bigot bet 8,000 on the 9 river, around half of Papadopoulos' stack.

Papadopoulos then shoved the rest in the middle, which caused Bigot to think the situation over for a few minutes. Eventually, the clock was called on him, and under the pressure of time, he slammed in a call.

Papadopoulos showed 77 for a pair of sevens, no match for the AJ of Bigot. Bigot celebrated his correct call and raked in the chips, while Papadopoulos headed to the exit.

Grigorii Rodin

Grigorii Rodin, who finished in sixth place in the 2023 EPT Prague Main Event, is building a stack that puts him in the top ten chip counts. He explained to PokerNews that he had eliminated [Removed:548] and Jorge Ufano following a three-way all-in.
