Vrakas Flips Jankowski Out

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Georgios Vrakas
Georgios Vrakas

The action picked up with both players’ cards flipped in front of them.

Lucjan Jankowski: A7All in
Georgios Vrakas: 44

Jankowski’s tournament life was on the line, and he needed help to survive. The flop of 102K didn’t provide any, but the Q on the turn gave him some additional outs. However, the 9 on the river wasn’t one of them, and Jankowski was eliminated from the tournament. Vrakas, meanwhile, is now edging closer to the million-chip mark.

The turn came the A and Vrakas check-called another bet from Shupa, this time for 125,000.

Vrakas opted to lead out for 90,000 upon seeing the 7 fall on the river. Shupa paused for a few moments, before he shoved for roughly 650,000. Vrakas tossed his cards into the muck and Shupa pulled in the pot.

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Joshua McSwiney
Joshua McSwiney

PokerNews caught the ending of a hand on a full board of 7710710 with around 200,000 chips in the middle. Joshua McSwiney had his stack of 521,000 in the middle, which left Laszlo Molnar with a huge decision for the bulk of his stack.

Molnar was on the clock and after using some extra time, he made the call with a stack of just over 700,000.

McSwiney then showed 87 for quads, and Molnar flipped over Q10 for top full house, which was no good.

Runcan Runs Good, Leaves Wood Chopped

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Philipp Wood
Philipp Wood

Paul Runcan opened from middle position and Philipp Wood three-bet from the button to 72,000. When it got back to Runcan, he put in the four-bet to 180,000, then Wood shoved. Runcan had around 650,000 total and made the call, which left him at risk.

Paul Runcan: QQ All in
Philipp Wood: AK

It was a tale as old as time with two premium hands racing off against each other deep in a poker tournament. The advantage stuck with Runcan after the J105 flop, but Wood did pick up two extra outs with his Broadway draw. Just as quickly as they were gained, those two outs vanished from Wood's radar on the J turn, which left him with one more shot.

All eyes were locked on the board as the dealer burned and turned over the 2, giving Runcan the big double-up, and chopping Wood's stack down to around 300,000.

Vincent Meli
Vincent Meli

Vincent Meli had his stack of almost 350,000 in the middle preflop and was put at risk by Finland's Luka Sorainen.

Vincent Meli: KK All in
Luka Sorainen: AQ

Meli was in the lead with his cowboys, but it's never a comfortable moment seeing that overcard. However, Meli needn't have worried as the J7445 runout kept his pocket kings in the lead.

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Luka Sorainen open-raised from the hijack and Vincent Meli moved all in from the button for 145,000. Sorainen looked across at his opponent and then made the call with the bigger stack. The cards were turned.

Vincent Meli: J10 All in
Luka Sorainen: 55

The board ran out Q66J10 and Meli paired his jack on the turn, then made two pair on the river, jacks and tens. He won the pot and doubled his stack.

It's Always Coming Seven

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Julian Salvesen moved all in from middle position for 100,000. Action folded to Ken Oberlieben, who, after confirming the exact count, announced all in as well. The big blind folded, and the players revealed their hands.

Julian Salvesen: AAAll in
Ken Oberlieben: 77

Oberlieben was far behind, but that changed when the dealer revealed the 27J flop. Salvesen needed one of the two remaining aces in the deck to stay alive, but the 5 turn and K river provided no help, and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Laszlo Molnar open-raised from the button and Arjel Daci called in the big blind.

The flop came 39Q and Daci checked. Molnar bet 18,000 and Daci called. Both players checked it back on the K turn. The river was the 7 and Daci checked again. Molnar fired out a bet of 72,000, which proved too much for Daci. He folded and Molnar won the pot.
