A Brutal Turn Ends Odeen's Main Event

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jerry Odeen
Jerry Odeen

Philip Joyce raised to 16,000 from under the gun and Jerry Odeen three-bet to 42,000 from the cutoff. After it folded back to Joyce, he made the call.

Joyce check-called a bet of 26,000 from Odeen on the JK8 flop.

Joyce checked again on the 10 turn and Odeen shoved for roughly 120,000. Joyce snap-called and the cards were revealed.

Jerry Odeen: K10 All in
Philip Joyce: AQ

A brutal turn card had improved Odeen to two pair while also giving Joyce the nut straight. A non-pairing 7 came on the river and Joyce eliminated Odeen.

Darko Percic

With around 75,000 chips already in the middle on a J8K6 board, Sylwia Studniarz checked from the big blind and Darko Percic fired 35,000 from middle position. Studniarz then raised to 75,000, and Percic wasted no time in shoving for around 150,000 total. Studniarz called.

Sylwia Studniarz: J8

Percic had top pair, but needed to find some help on the river as Studniarz had flopped two pair. An A river was no help to Percic, who tapped the table and made his way to the payout desk.

Roberto Ghidini opened the action to 16,000 from middle position and was called by Javier Tazon in the big blind.

After Tazon checked, Ghidini made a continuation bet of 12,000 on the 10A5 flop, and Tazon called. The turn was the K, and both players elected to check.

When the 5 fell on the river, Tazon took the initiative and led out for 45,000. Ghidini got the exact count and made the call, only to muck his cards when Tazon showed 54 for rivered trips.

Wintersberger Gets Value With the Nuts

Kimmo Kurko raised to 16,000 from the cutoff with only David Wintersberger calling from the button.

The two players checked a flop of 826 to see the 7 drop on the river. Kurko checked and Wintersberger fired a bet of 25,000. Kurko made the call.

Kurko checked again on the K river and Wintersberger fired out another bet, this time for 90,000. Kurko burned through two of his time bank cards before reluctantly making the call.

Wintersberger tabled A10 for the nuts, and the pot was pushed to him.

Reiser Given Five Seconds to Act With Short Stack

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

With around 200,000 already in the pot on a 7K4 flop, Ken Oberlieben had fired 8,000 and Stefan Reiser, who only had 12,000 in his stack, called.

A 3 on the turn saw Oberlieben bet 8,000 again, then Reiser put all of his remaining timebanks into the pot. The dealer then said that he would call the floor as using timebanks with such a small stack was forbidden, and once the floor arrived, they gave Reiser a five-second countdown. After two seconds, Reiser called.

Stefan Reiser: 99 All in
Ken Oberlieben: AQ

Reiser was ahead and managed to fade the river as the J completed the board, earning Reiser a double-up.

"I was hoping you had ace-jack," joked Oberlieben after the hand.
